“You have to have gone to college to say something that stupid."
Dennis Prager would often respond to callers on his national radio show with that line when they said something so bereft of common sense that the only explanation for it had to be four or more years of brainwashing from radical professors.
During his years as a graduate student in international affairs at Columbia University, where his professors believed such inane things as the belief that there is no difference between men and women and that the Soviet Union and the United States were morally equivalent during the Cold War, Prager realized that the modern university was the mainstream institution possessing the least wisdom.
Unfortunately, Prager has been sidelined from his radio show since a devastating fall in 2024 left him paralyzed. Yet as we survey the political scene today, we can see the kinds of stances he might say only a college-“educated” person could believe:
* That performing gender reassignment surgery on minors is not harmful.
* That Israel is committing genocide in Gaza and Lebanon and is the morally culpable party in its war against enemies that seek to destroy the world's only Jewish state.
* That socialism — heck, communism — is more effective than capitalism at lifting people out of poverty and providing a higher standard of living.
* That borders are inherently cruel.
* That abolishing ICE and the police will lead to a more just society.
That's pretty much the platform of Democratic Socialists of America (DSA), and it's no surprise that its recent ominous string of victories — including those of Zohran Mamdani-endorsed Darializa Avila Chevalier, Claire Valdez, and Brad Lander in New York City, as well as Melat Kiros in Colorado — was propelled by people who learned such nonsense

There isn’t a non violent solution, and that’s exactly how the left has worked it.
Hardwired positive reinforcement conditioning is physical.
The only way to break it is with emotional trauma.
Is there a solution?
Stop college loans for useless degree programs.
Everyone - EVERYONE - enrolled in these useless curricula comes out a socialist democrat voter, especially females.
College educated blacks. 95% of them thought O.J. was set up. Start with that.
I NEVER learned far-left nonsense in college or graduate school—back in the day!!
Yes, universities were liberal—but they were not wacko socialist!
the second part of the problem is that the federal government is funding universities that teach nonsense—especially through loans and grants to students with idiot majors.
STEM folks are not commie trash. Non-STEM have 90% chance of being so. Like rabid dogs there is no saving such — like hamas supporters.
This. We need to stop paying for our own destruction.
For some, the solution will be marriage, children, real life. For others, no solution.
If you really want to see the effects of black colleges and black college graduates watch “The Fallen State” hosted by Jesse Lee Peterson as he eviscerates “educated” blacks. It’s amazin’
if they were privately funded, lenders would likely limit loams to certain majors, and/or to those who demonstrated higher academic proficiency in high school.
On other words, quit subsidizing stupid kids in stupid majors.
Just because they attended college doesn’t mean they’re educated.
The solution is simple. Privatize education . With public schools since their paycheck comes from the Government teachers will naturally be inclined to big Government solutions. Separation of School and State is an idea whose time has come.
College educated blacks. 95% of them thought O.J. was set up. Start with that.
I remember the reaction of the Howard University Law Students when the verdict was announced.
First we have to establish that there is in fact a problem.
Why would we want to take Deep State’s word for it?
Exactly. ‘College Educated’ in many cases has become an oxymoron.
The problem actually starts in the K12 system.
Regarding universities, private ones can teach whatever nonsense their boards and endowments wish to pay for.
State universities, if land grant schools in origin, state legislatures need to force them back to that original charter.
If not of land grant origin again state legislatures need to examine closely what they are funding. If possible* hold school administrations and governing boards responsible for curriculum, administrative structure, fiscal propriety and policies. Force them to be lean administratively**! Force them to pay attention to state employment needs. For example, does the law school need to keep pumping out lawyers when the state has a surplus? Does it need to graduate more K12 teachers when the state population is shrinking? Does the state need more political science majors?
Taxpayer funded state schools are not there to train\educate the world. Money from foreign sources gifts\endowments should be publicly known and not automatically accepted. No matter how lucrative the tuition from those foreign students is or how much it tickles the egos of the academic “Citizen-of-the-World” class. The first duty of this “class” is to the tax paying public of their respective states.
Another problem to ask ourselves. Are these state universities educational institutions with a sideline in sports or are they sports entertainment institutions with a sideline in education. The answer to this question effects the above!
* Some of the ability of state legislatures ability to get schools spending and behavior under control is hindered by state constitutions. Well meaning sections and amendments originally designed to keep politics out of education. Guess what? Politics snuck in the back door!
** State politics often effect administrative hires. State legislatures and state media ought to sing out loud with complaints when a state political crony is given 6 figure plus administrative job!
