District Clerk April Keys allegedly tore up ballots and helped smuggle them out of her office to help board president Victor Pratt win his reelection campaign for the Hempstead Union Free School District on Long Island.
Keys was allegedly caught on surveillance throwing the ripped-up ballots into the dumpster. She also allegedly gave Pratt, a local DJ, absentee ballots to get rid of, a district petition filed to the Education Department said, according to the New York Post.

Somewhat confusingly written story but it appears the clerk, a custodian, and a candidate were disposing of ballots and forging others.
I have a theory - the smaller the election, the more likely the fraud.

Hence election monitors.
If not now, it should be statutory in every state for every election.

Deep State has discovered that it is easier to subtract than to add.
Which is why states that don’t use RCV use RCV-enabled electronic voting machines and tabulators.
Low turnouts...?
Maybe.
But without audits, a way to verify the number of ballots actually cast, we will never know.

Monitors can only monitor what they are allowed to watch.

May help...but monitoring people offsite who are filling in ballots is probably bigger problem.

Actually I think the opposite is true. The bigger the election the more likely the fraud.

Too big to prosecute or disclose. Too damaging to the institutions of our society. Our state and national elections are “Too Big to be Flawed”. So we just pretend dystopian absurdity is ok.

There should be a process for judicial action whenever a claim of non-transparency is leveled in any election in the US.
We have allowed our elections to become coopted by the enemy and we’re <10% back to secure, transparent elections imho.
From my chair, the gop is in bed with the enemy.

So true. A close friend of mine was called upon in the State of Washington to monitor ballot counting for the local GOP. Neither he nor his Democrat counterpart were allowed into the room where the counting was being done, but only allowed to view the process from a window.
He was then asked to sign off on the counting and he refused because he wasn't allowed in close enough to see the process. He wasn't ever asked back.

From where?
You’re going to find lawful election monitors? In NY? Who don’t hate republicans? Willing to withstand the pushback?
