Recognizing Iran’s ability to influence Hezbollah in ways that Lebanon can’t, US and Qatar broker truce through Tehran, rather than Beirut, after 47 Lebanese killed in response to killing of 4 troops
Israel and Hezbollah agreed to a ceasefire on Friday afternoon, a US official said, after another flare-up in southern Lebanon that saw four Israeli soldiers and dozens of Lebanese casualties.
The renewed truce appeared as fragile as ever, as it didn’t see Israel pull out of the large buffer zone it established in southern Lebanon — one that Hezbollah has used to justify continued attacks on troops stationed there as well as on northern Israeli towns across the border.
The latest deal was brokered by the US and Qatar through talks with Israel and Iran respectively, a senior US official said in a statement to reporters. While Hezbollah sources confirmed the truce, Israel refrained from doing so publicly as of early Friday evening.

Lebanon has been working with President Trump and Israel. Hezbollah will never comply with a cease fire.
Middle East is full of snakes. Many of them are venomous. There is not a pit big enough to hold them all.

This daily (hourly) on again/off again ceasefire confuses me.
Iran created Hezbollah in 1982. When Israel wiped out the Iran/Hezbollah hierarchy, someone from Iran took over.
For decades, Iran supplied the Iran/Hezbollah in Lebanon with missiles and supplies through Syria. The Russians, and Russian puppet Assad, facilitated all of it. Syria is now a client-state of Turkey.
What really bothers the Lebanon contingent of Iran/Hezbollah is that Israel is once again in Southern Lebanon. If Iran/Hezbollah want to tunnel into Israel from the North, they have to dig a lot more. Iran/Hezbollah would love to be able to perform their own Oct 7 terror attack from Lebanon.
Some people talk about the current Iran/Hezbollah vs Israel conflict as starting Oct 8. More Horsepuckey. Iran/Hezbollah have been raining down rockets on Northern Israel for decades. The alliance between Iran/Hezbollah, Hamas, Al-Queda, democRATs/demoKKKrats will not be satisfied until there are no more Jews........on the planet.

Israel and Hezbollah had been fighting long before the Israel/USA “war” against Iran. Hezbollah shoots rockets/missiles at Israel and Israel responds. Was happening long before Trump.
How convenient for Iran to try to attach Israel/Hezbollah “war” to the US/Iran cease fire agreement especially with as little credibility that they have.
The only thing that Israel and Hezbollah have to do with Iran is the fact that Iran created Hezbollah.
