U.S. President Donald Trump said Tuesday that America will not invest money in Iran after a Memorandum of Understanding was agreed with Tehran.
“We are not investing any money in Iran, by the way, and with that rumor got out there yesterday was ridiculous,” he told reporters on the sidelines of the G7 summit in Evian, France. “We have the right to go in some day and do, if I want to do something, or if somebody wants to do something, but we are not investing any money.”
(snip)
He appeared to be referring to reports that the terms of the peace agreement could involve Washington allowing for the creation of a $300 billion investment fund for Iran. Vice President JD Vance told CBS on Monday that it was the “sort of thing they could have access to, funded by the Gulf Coast Coalition, so long as they honor their end of the obligation.”
Trump also said he maintains a “great relationship” with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, despite admitting he “didn’t like” how Israel is handling its war with Hezbollah in Lebanon.

Also this:
“I’ve had a great relationship with Bibi, but now Bibi has to be more responsible with respect to Lebanon,” Trump said of Israel’s Netanyahu on Tuesday. “Lebanon used to be a great country … I would say of all countries, they’ve been treated the worst, and they can’t defend themselves, and they have Hezbollah, which is a problem for them, so now I’m not happy with the way Israel has handled themselves with Lebanon and with Hezbollah.”
Except that Lebanon now wants Israel to rid the Levant of Hezbollah and any other Iranian jihadist proxy.
Trump is allowing Iran to dictate policy in Lebanon. Lebanon wants to be rid of Hezbollah, but Iran, Turkey, and Qatar want Hezbollah in Lebanon.
For Trump, Israel defending itself against Hezbollah rockets is “behaving badly” so it stands to reason that Trump is compromised when it comes to Turkey, Qatar, and Iran.
The people Trump has selected to be involved in all of this are awful. Tom Barrack is an agent of ISIS and Turkey, not the US. Witkoff and Kushner are naive businessmen. Vance is a snake.
Instead of peace, the stage is being set for a massive war in the Middle East.
If the US wants to make Israel party to the agreement with Iran, then there should be a statement in there that Iran recognizes Israel as a sovereign state and they will cease hostilities against them as well.
“weasel words” is correct
The American taxpayers funded this war and have provided a defense to the Gulf states for decades (thus subsidizing these countries and allowing them to make their oil income - that they make no money without US-provided defense keeping the Gulf open). So effectively, this really is American money going to Iran.
But no matter how you view the source of the money, the ayatollahs remain fully in power and will be well-funded. There’s TDS and at the other end of the spectrum there is a cult-like insistence that the man can do no wrong and thus this must declared a victory.
“the stage is being set for a massive war in the Middle East.”
maybe that is what is supposed to be? as in biblical.
people want group hugs and kumbya feelings in themselves, so they try to make that happen, but that’s not been the plan for this world since the times of Lucifer, and the fall, until the appointed time which God knows.
bigger picture going on.
may want to accept it so you stop being disappointed.
The words that come out of Trump’s mouth are meaningless. It’s just noise at this point.
Weasel words? LMAO
Something about you being unhappy makes my day.
So you’re on Team Iran-Hezbollah?
it doesn’t matter does it?
just label a part of money from the government and call it ‘not tax payer’s money’
no body care or can proof that if those money weren’t given to iran they would come us
No. I’m on team MAGA, and I’m guessing you still like Bush.
From what I can see Iran is full of crazy religious fanatics that do nothing but lie. It’ll be hard to deal with them but Trump’s going to try.
All the NeverTrumpers are claiming he is giving 300 Billion to them. Are they lying again?
I think Trump knew he had to exit. It was turning into another endless expensive war that was not to his or our benefit....but it was to the benefit of Netanyahu. The American economy, at this point, is in trouble. We could not afford this war. I am glad that Trump made the decision to pull out.
Leaving the IRGC in power is a big mistake.
Instead of peace, the stage is being set for a massive war in the Middle East.

Ya mean like the kind of war that erupted when the US sucker-punched Iran?
No, the kind of war when you don’t kill the snake, just wound it.
“Leaving the IRGC in power is a big mistake.”
