President Trump warned Thursday that the US will soon take over Kharg Island, which processes about 90% of Iran’s crude oil for export, following a second day of airstrikes against the Islamic Republic.
“The United States will be hitting Iran (Whose Navy, Air Force, Radar, Anti Aircraft, and all other forms of Defense, together with most of its offensive capability, are GONE!), VERY HARD TONIGHT,” Trump announced on Truth Social.
“At some point in the not too distant future, we will be taking Kharg Island, and other oil infrastructure points, and assume total control of their Oil and Gas Markets, much like we have with Venezuela, which is working out brilliantly for both Venezuela and the United States of America.”
Trump had flirted with military operations pertaining to Kharg Island earlier on during Operation Epic Fury, but refrained from dealing too much of a blow to Iran’s oil infrastructure, viewing it as important to the country’s future.
The US restarted strikes Tuesday evening after an Apache helicopter was brought down over the Strait of Hormuz by an Iranian drone.
Tehran has responded by sending missiles towards US military facilities in Bahrain, Jordan and Kuwait.
Both warring countries had entered a fragile cease-fire agreement on April 8. But Trump has since panned that temporary truce as “the most violated ceasefire in the history of the world” and opted to resume attacks after grumbling that Iran was “tapping us along.”
During that cease-fire while talks ensued over Iran’s stockpile of enriched uranium, the regime wreaked havoc in the Strait of Hormuz, scaring off tankers from traversing the critical waterway where over an estimated fifth of the world’s seaborne oil supplies once flowed through annually.

I disagree. He’s been backing off so many claims that attack is imminent that they will be shocked at this point if there is a real attack. LOL.
On the other hand, he may be drawing the enemy out of their hide holes.
The only problem is the logistics, how will you invade without naval support, how will you resupply, and most important how will you evacuate?
This is a suicide mission with our troops.

Have you actually paid attention to the many, many statements President Trump has made over the years.
He is a businessman/dealmaker at heat.
Many things are overstated, then backed off, then overstated with the end result landing very close to what he was striving for in the end.
You can not get so caught up in every individual statement. Almost everything he has done has ended up well, trust the plan.
I’m not saying that taking Kharg is a bad idea, but the only reason I’d announce that I was about to seize Kharg is if I were just about ready to seize Qeshm.
Kharg is Iran’s primary export facility, but Qeshm is better placed to suppress actions in the straight.
Ah yes. Nothing screams MAGA like seizing the means of oil production in iran and Venezuela instead of pumping ours out of our own land and refining here and distributing here.

I love ya, DJT, but STFU and just DO IT. These people can’t ever be trusted. They must be completely defeated and their cause destroyed. No quarter. I know it’s a tall order to do that without massive civilian adverse effects, but we did it in Germany and then helped them rebuild.

Why all this compusive talking and posturing ? Why give warning which puts airmen, sailors, special forces at increased risk? Come to terms with the reality that there can be no enforcable deal with the mullah regime. If in the end they remain, they will have won.
Finally, I have been patiently waiting for this move. It’s the best play. Take the island and suck Iran dry.
