Volodymyr Zelensky has warned Vladimir Putin that Ukraine is "very close" to producing a ballistic missile that could be fired into Russia.
The statement came ahead of talks with Sir Keir Starmer and the leaders of France and Germany over how to bring an end to the long-running war.
"During several years of the war and massive attacks, we learned, we studied and we produced… we produced a lot of different drones and missiles, we still don't have ballistics, but we are now on the way, we are very close," the Ukrainian president told Sky News.
Mr Zelensky is the latest Ukrainian politician to warn that Putin had missed his chance to negotiate a favourable end to the conflict by refusing to entertain a new round of peace talks.
"It's our response and our answer that we will not just silently die," Mr Zelensky told the broadcaster when asked about the increasing number of cross-border strikes.

If he does, Russia will mirror the attack back on Ukraine. Maybe it’s time to end this.

Just like Vietnam, the United States supports Ukraine against the invasion yet a few support Russia against us, Russia, North Korea, and Chechen Muslim forces fighting together in Europe while America is supporting the European nation being invaded.
When they get them, the Kerch Bridges will likely be targeted first, and frequently, until they drop into the sea.

Why would you want to further penalize the clearly harmed party in the war? Russia illegally invaded Ukraine - twice - so Ukraine should have discretion to act in any way that restores their own sovereignty.
Allowing Russia, or any other country, to profit from their own illegal acts simply encourages them to commit more illegal acts.

Come on. You are reducing history to a party line. The situation is much more complex. Russia was baited with bioweapons labs on her border and Nato taunts after promises wre made that would not be an option. The history of Ukraine and Russia is chaotic and there was room for compromise. If Biden hadn’t been POTUS this never would have happened.
The Necons set this up.
It’s a very dirty game on the international stage and there are no good duys. Z is an (expletive redacted). He milked the situation for graft, for everything he could get, posturing, inflaming, asking for the impossible, obstructing any progress to resolve the war peacefully.
For the Ukrainian people, for the Russian people I grieve. For Z I have noithing but profound contempt.
LOL It’s the exact opposite given the kill ratio on the battlefield. Ukraine is recently killing or wounding the equivalent of Russia’s monthly recruitment, plus the deep destruction of front-line logistics and Russia’s economic infrastructure.
