Some of Maine Gov. Janet Mills’ most ardent supporters are encouraging her to reactivate her suspended Senate campaign as fellow Democrat Graham Platner faces new allegations of “toxic” behavior toward three ex-girlfriends, which he has denied.
But while the latest allegations about Platner’s past have jolted uneasy members of the party, that encouragement hasn’t amounted to an organized effort to promote her in Tuesday’s primary, according to conversations with more than a dozen Democrats in state and national politics.
Former state Sen. Lynn Bromley told NBC News that she directly encouraged Mills, whose name remains on the ballot, to jump back into the race. She wanted to let Mills know “there’s still a cheering section out here.”
Asked how Mills responded to that outreach, and if the governor might be re-engaging in the race, Bromley said in a Friday phone interview, “She’s out of money, so there’s — how much re-engaging can you do? So I don’t want to characterize it as that.”
“I’m just saying she knows there are people out here supporting her. And she wanted to make sure people knew they still have a choice, that they don’t have to decide that this guy is their nominee,” Bromley said.
“I can’t speak for her. I’m not speaking for the campaign,” Bromley added. “So I would just say that she noted that she’s let people know that she’s still on the ballot.”
A source close to Mills told NBC News: “The governor remains on the ballot, and in the wake of this week’s stories, people across Maine are reaching out to tell her they’re voting for her and encouraging her to get fully back into the race.”

That’s good. The other unavailable non-participant is Jared Golden who keeps winning his house seat despite Trump carrying the district. He’s quitting politics and let’s hope former governor LePage succeeds him. As for Platner lets hope he survives. This GOP pundit Sunshine stood up for him. We need more of that but he won’t last.
As observers of human behavior one should take notice of the elected democrats defending him. Control of the senate is at stake and this is making them desperate. Shows how obsessed with power they are. Pathetic. Still, let’s hope he lasts until November and take his loss like a man.
I seem to recall President Trump predicting her political career would be short. It came after her nasty comment about keeping boys in girl sports. Now she is broke.
Here in the midcoast I’ve only noticed one, maybe two, Platner signs come down.

She will wait until last minute. So she doesn’t come under scrutiny. She and family are too dirty to stand examination and this is the only way she will win an election.
She is hated but extremely powerful.
I assure you she’s not broke and can gather the financial backing when she wants it.
She is keeping her powder dry and waiting. Timing is everything. A concept that short term successful conservatives do not understand.
I would bet the DNC has told Mills and others to stay out of the race and let Platner implode all by himself. The DNC would rather have a RINO who often votes with the Ds in place than a noisy, controversial firebrand who is constantly irritating those Ds who lean to the center politically.

Her strategy is for the Nazi to win the primary and to be deposed by dem bosses. With the dem party in crisis she will wait (like Kamala) for a “draft”.
She will - reluctantly - accept the draft for the good of the nation - and to help lower global temperatures by .007 degrees in the next 250 years.
