In the thick of another high-stakes election year, GOP voters are sending a clear message that cuts through the noise of legacy media chatter. It even transcends far more serious pocketbook worries.
A new national survey reveals that Republicans are firmly commited to President Donald J. Trump, rooted in his record on issues that reach beyond dollars and cents. This data was gathered by the Democracy Institute in partnership with me, as host of the current events show News Sight and author of the finance newsletter Dr. Cotto’s Digest.
The poll spotlights a GOP base that stands rock-solid even as broader national surveys show massive economic frustration.
The numbers paint a striking picture of loyalty forged in shared values and proven leadership. When asked if Trump’s performance on non-economic issues outweighs his handling of the economy, a resounding 79 percent of self-identified Republican likely voters said yes. Only 21 percent disagreed.
That is not a lukewarm endorsement. It is a powerful declaration that principles like immigration control, law and order, America-first foreign policy, and combating woke terror carry more weight for these voters than any single economic snapshot.
Dig deeper, and the picture sharpens.
Fully 88 percent affirmed that, when focusing solely on Trump’s actions outside the economy, he remains worthy of their support. Just 12 percent said no. These figures reveal a core truth. Trump’s appeal rests on a foundation that economic headwinds cannot easily erode. Voters see his strength on judicial appointments, national sovereignty, and pushing back against elite institutions that have scorned normal Americans.

Virginia voters found out how much Democrats really care about affordability...they give it lip service then do everything they can to make it less affordable.
I don’t agree with everything Trump does, but I agree with 80%+ of it, and it don’t get no better than that.
The Democrats want to use “affordability” as the issue because they are thinking of mirroring the victory of the Commie, Jew-hating young Mayor of NYC, Zohran Mamdani, who won by a landslide using this theme.
How else can you explain their younger candidates for Senate — James Talarico in Texas and Graham Platner in Maine?
Regardless, I still think November 2026 will boil down to which voters are more MOTIVATED to come out — Those who want Trump’s agenda to continue, or those who hate everything Trump stands for.
You know what would help affordability? The government NOT taking our money and letting fraudsters (Somalis and otherwise) steal it. Also, deporting EVERY SINGLE ILLEGAL ALIEN and their offspring. Oh, and generally, the government just getting the hell out of everyone's lives, and reducing bureaucracy and regulations.

Heck, I’m thrilled if I agree 50% of the time.
It’s been long said we can’t win with just the conservative vote alone-gotta reach out. Trump reaches out and his crossover voters are coming to him. We’ll see in November. This is a big opportunity for those of us who are with him from the beginning. The rinos have been pretty much primaried out-at least the big ones. I’m sending a hundred bucks to Spencer Pratt on June 3rd provided he does better than ‘just’ finish 2nd.
RE: “Affordability”
I spoke to some NYC voters regarding the “affordability” issue and often, these are the items that they are most concerned with -— HOUSING ( number one ), Groceries ( less so, but still on their list ), Healthcare and other mandatory Insurance (the next big item ) and Education ( especially college ).
Surprisingly, I don’t hear Clothing and Transportation being mentioned at all.
I stand by Trump and think the Democrats are insane. But affordability is a real issue that needs to be addressed. Republicans downplay it at their own peril.
I believe one affordability message that the GOP should yell daily is the One Big Beautiful Bill making the Trump tax cuts permanent. Look at your paystub and figure out how much lower your paycheck would be if the Dims had had their way with taxes and the Trump tax cuts had expired.
It’s like they, the American people through some borderline mystic power — they, they don’t believe a dam thing the comes out of any lame stream media source or any lying dumbocate........
‘hakeem’ some phlegm up and spit on the floor......
“Claptrap?” Wow.
I’m fortunate enough to not have to really worry much about inflation. In fact, it is a plus in *some ways.
That said, the state of denial and gaslighting within the GOP -particulary around Team Trump and his nad-sucklers - is astonishing. People, especially young people, seriously, cannot afford cars homes, rent, insurance and even groceries.
This is actually real, not “claptrap.”
RE: But affordability is a real issue that needs to be addressed. Republicans downplay it at their own peril.
Yep, it’s just the same variation of the 1990’s theme that got Bill Clinton elected — IT’s THE ECONOMY, STUPID.
Gas prices-the rats don’t have a leg to stand on. Keystone and all the other environmental crap. People will know prices went down under Trump and why they went back up. They also remember how high they were under Bidet. I think they’ll trust Trump when he says prices will come down.
Ah, the “American” Thinker is heard from.
What fraction of the national electorate is made up of “GOP voters”?
Republicans need to play offense — it’s the Democrats who are making life unaffordable.

Everyone who’s sane and knowledgeable about what Trump is striving to achieve for the welfare and security of all Americans has refused to be indoctrinated by the Marxist-Democrats, their RINO sycophants, and the propaganda news media under their control. Those are the voters who will prevent our enemies here and abroad from achieving their objective which is to destroy our Constitutional Republic.
