President Trump has toughened the terms of a potential framework for a deal to end the war in Iran, and has sent those proposed changes back to the country for consideration, according to three officials.
Mr. Trump has been concerned about parts of the potential deal that would include unfreezing funds for the Iranians, two officials said. He has been harshly critical of President Barack Obama for doing the same in the more than decade-old agreement that was signed to curtail Iran’s nuclear program.
Mr. Trump has also been frustrated by how long it has taken for Iran to respond to U.S. proposals, one official said.
The official added that Mr. Trump’s changes — a new, tougher proposal — were potentially intended to speed up the process by putting pressure on Iran to accept the framework already sent to Iran’s supreme leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, for approval.

I don’t see how any of this ever ends.

So far Iran has been successfully managing to drag out the negotiations to their advantage. Its how they operate. Delay, dissemble and deceive.
More B.S. from the Times. …”according to three officials.”
War Bots gonna War Botz.😂
How the hell did it get this far if it now has to be toughened?
well, anyway,
dear president trump, please pump Xerox for me, it is an American company that could... use one of your tweet, so I, and we Americans can make over 10,000% returns.
Everything ends eventually. Everything. You. Me. Even the stars eventually come to an end. Keep the faith.
Time to face reality. Unless the mullah regime, which includes tens of thousands that control the banks, the oil, the food supply as well as the military and IRGC, is deposed, any “agreement” will be a sham. Sadly it will take hard fighting, huge difficult expensive logistics and casualties.
Reality check
Thousands of miles from the Persian Gulf, a sprawling network of tanker-to-tanker oil transfers off the coast of Malaysia and Singapore is helping Iran sustain its crude exports to China, even as Trump gets tough-er and tense military activity with the United States occurs in Iran.
Nearly 400 ageing vessels make up what is widely called Iran’s “ghost fleet”......
<><>exploiting opaque ownership structures,
<><>flying flags of convenience,
<><>absent insurance coverage
<><>manipulating GPS data to avoid detection.
Ship-to-ship transfers allow their cargoes to change hands at sea,
obscuring the oil’s origin before it reaches its final destination.
Maritime security risk is rated CRITICAL.
This is just a working theory but I seriously doubt there is any concrete peace deal working. My guess is that Trump is using it to keep Congress quiet and the press focused on”the deal” while he has something else going on behind the curtain.
I cannot imagine the Iranians agreeing to give up their uranium and stop making missiles.
The Ayatollahs in charge are absolute fanatics to their "religion", which orders them to destroy Israel and The Great Satan (USA), so they'll never agree to give up their hope of doing that, i.e., they'll never give up their almost-there quest for nuclear weapons, which they would promptly use once complete.
I think we need to resume warfare to:
-- Kill down the Ayatollahs and IRGC down to where whoever is remaining will give up their nuclear ambitions. I have hope (now small size) that the decent Iranian people will/can rise up and take over.
-- Destroy all missiles and missile launchers we can find.
-- Destroy all drones we can find.
-- Order a no-go zone along the Iranian coast between latitude X and latitude Y. Give their fishermen 72 hours to move their boats, then destroy any and all boats between those latitudes.
Just start bombing already. Iran is doing nothing except waiting for the Democrats to force Trump to bring the troops home.
They want to be stone age barbarians, so help them out and bomb the F out of them.
Oh, and ship all the barbarian “refugee” freeloader back to whatever SH country they came from.
Sharia is not compatable with the US constitution.
Markets open again in hours. Here we go again. Insiders check your trading accounts to see how much you have profited. It will be huge this time after oil went down so much Friday.
Fill your vehicles soon if you can. Oil and fuel will be back up tomorrow.
You think there is insider trading? Oh my! How dare you!
You’ll have your MAGA credentials taken away if you keep saying things like this.
Turns out Old Trump finally met people who out Trumped Trump
Oil is down around 20% and the local Chevron station dropped the price 10 cents to $6.29.
Money, profits, gouging...
Oh, and who profits from endless war?
We need more weapons!
Carter “ended” a pro-Western country when he turned Iran over to the ShiaImams. Took weeks for all pro-Westerns to be murdered or exiled.
To end this you have to take approach in postWW2 Germany — END all members of the sect in the area. Don’t need boots onna ground. Just airdrop weapons to all 90M non-Shia in the country and tell them that there is no such thing as war crimes or crimes against humanity. Go for it.
Iran has got Trump’s nunber....
Once upon a time pump prices moved in near lock step to oil price. At least that is what I recall. A backward look at records would either support or refute that memory. Retailers raised prices on old lower priced stock but also lowered prices on old higher priced stock. It seemed to work out. This does not happen so much now. Things go like at the Chevron station you cite.
Yeah, seems like gouging to me as well. It feels as though there is a lot of gouging going on. Wait for it, oil price driven inflation will not relent much if at all when oil prices finally do go down. Furthermore, it will be shocking if oil prices go down to the same level as they were before Trump’s Folly.
In all my years I have never been this cynical. Experience has a way of changing attitudes.
Everybody has to be getting sick of this crap.
On a related subject, what good is an agreement with Iran if it can only be sustained by force of arms?
