WASHINGTON — Tulsi Gabbard, director of national intelligence, announced her resignation Friday to care for her husband after his diagnosis with an extremely rare form of bone cancer.
Gabbard informed President Donald Trump of her decision during a meeting in the Oval Office. Her last day leading the Office of the Director of National Intelligence will be June 30, according to a resignation letter obtained by Fox News Digital.

Tulsi Gabbard is an American politician and U.S. military officer who has served as the eighth director of national intelligence since 2025. She previously served as U.S. representative for Hawaii’s 2nd congressional district from 2013 to 2021 and in the Hawaii House of Representatives from 2002 to 2004. Wikipedia. Lot of turnover in that job.

Hopefully she chose wisely in her backup who will have hit the ground running. He needs to have the same fire in his belly as Tulsi has. There are a lot of saboteurs hiding out in intelligence.

I’m surprised she held out so long as Trump basically IGNORED HER and instead sided with the Neocons, something he all but promised to NOT do during his campaigning.
That’s certainly an honorable reason to resign. I hope that in her announcement she made at least a brief comment that she was honored to have been appointed by DJT.
Rare cancers are often very difficult to manage. Such patients often have to resort to experimental drugs and treatments at cancer research centers.

So sad. Good luck, Tulsi. My next door elderly neighbor contracted a rare form of cancer. Unfortunately, he didn’t live long. Then my neighbor behind me contracted a rare form of cancer but with treatment he’s going on strong. My thought is what’s in the water around here.
Prayers for Tulsi and her husband and family. They are facing a tough time.
