As RedState’s Ward Clark reported Sunday, gunmen engaged in a seemingly random shooting spree in Austin, Texas. There were at least 12 incidents across the city as the perps fired from stolen vehicles, hitting two fire stations, injuring four people, and triggering a shelter-in-place order in South Austin.
Following Ward’s report, Austin Police Department Chief Lisa Davis announced that two juvenile suspects — a 15-year-old and a 17-year-old — had been taken into custody.
Then, on Sunday night, APD said they’d busted a third:
Manor is a suburb of Austin, and its police department often works closely with APD.
During a Sunday afternoon press conference, authorities alleged that the 17-year-old already had a warrant connected to the theft of a firearm, and that the 15-year-old was suspected of stealing a gun from the same store.
What the heck was their motive? Authorities said they don’t know:
"At this time, most of the shootings have occurred in South Austin," [Chief] Davis said earlier Sunday. "No specific motive, and they appear to be random in nature."

An anonymous, crime-focused Twitter account called @AustinJustice opined that the suspects could have been nailed much more quickly if APD had been able to use technology it had relied upon in the past: license plate readers.
In 2025, city leaders refused to continue a license plate reader program that had helped police effectively track down stolen cars and solve other crimes. Their reasoning, at least partially: the information could be used by ICE to locate illegal aliens.
The APD would like to have a word:
In a work session Tuesday [June 3, 2025], APD says the system has helped them find 176 stolen vehicles and catch numerous violent suspects. The data is kept for seven days, and any requests follow guidelines.
"We have robust safeguards in place to ensure the requests that are coming in are monitored and reviewed," Assistant Chief Sheldon Askew said.
APD says not having the program will make it more difficult to solve crimes.
"We're more successful when we have technologies such as ALPR [automated license plate reader] to do it," Askew said.
Presumably, we’ll find out more on Monday about what led at least three teens to go on a violent shooting spree that could have easily cost lives. Males in their late teens are notorious for having a wild streak, but this is way beyond the pale. They should pay a heavy price.
Unfortunately, Travis County District Attorney José Garza, who could potentially oversee the case, is a George Soros-backed Democrat, and you know what that means — he’s soft-on-crime and no friend of the police. We'll see what happens.

Texas may be a red state but Austen is a very, very blue city.
Manor was a small spot in the road east of Austin 10-20 or so years ago, now it is a crap-hole full of south of the border types. If you go there or drive through it, better carry and be awake. Just another dimocrap success story.
“In 2025, city leaders refused to continue a license plate reader program that had helped police effectively track down stolen cars and solve other crimes. Their reasoning, at least partially: the information could be used by ICE to locate illegal aliens.”
They were Mexicans carjacking cars.
Where did you get that confirmation? Do you have a link?
It certainly doesn’t sound farfetched.
Thx.
Part of the push to turn us blue. The rural and older conservative suburb areas will not be able to fend off the tide much longe unless things change. All the yankees and west coasties moving here isn’t helping.
20 years ago if you went into Austin you’d see cowboy hats, pretty women, pick-up trucks and all sort of Texas iconic scenes. Now it is tattooed, pink haired idiots, libs, foreigner, bums, and electric cars at every turn. I chuckle every time I see a tourist ad showing cowboys in Austin and other towns like it. There isn’t a real cowboy within 60 miles of Austin. You go to a country bar (one that plays the new rock and roll country, you won’t hear but maybe one George Strait song all night) and the hats you see are worn as a prop and look like they bought them at a gas station on the way to the bar. There isn’t much two-stepping or waltzing anymore the danced floor looks like a scene from dancing with the stars with everybody jumping, dipping, and spinning around out of control. Young girls are half-naked and dance together sometimes because the “boys” there can’t dance look like they just got off work wearing dirty t-shirts and ball-caps. You want to real country dance you have to go out on the country to smaller venues.
It’s not any better in the DFW area. It’s going Hindu and Muzzie.
It’s all over the local news.
Rope and a tree.
It’s probably not white kids. The hint is in the headline. “Teens.”
I wonder how long it will be until the word is rejected by the left and journalists because the general pop has learned the unpleasant true meaning when used this way?
Probably change it to something long and awkward like “children of advancing age.”
Oh those zany teens and their jalopies
“What the heck was their motive?”
Hey Einstein, the motive was to shoot people!
“What the heck was their motive?”
“It’s fun to do bad things.”
Or, melanin enriched “children of advancing age.”
Operation MTMA (make Texas Mexico again). Underway for years but now Islam is positioning to be the strong horse.
I spent yesterday in north-of-DFW downtown Denton. I was surrounded by a large number of genZ and millennial hippies, each attempting to outdo the others in levels of weirdness. I suspect it is because of the two campi, UNT and TWU. "Normals" (including yours truly) of all races live without problems in surrounding communities, but nearby Frisco is full of Hindus, and Plano of Muslims.
I read a story yesterday about Troy NY and its battle to remove these cameras. The picture I saw of their protest is your normal purple haired , nose ringed retards crying about “privacy” and gubmint. I suspect of the plate readers were tracking MAGA , they would live with the invasion of privacy.
They want license plate readers to keep track of everyone?
