Iran Seizes Ship Loaded with Weapons, Steers It Toward Territorial Waters: Report
Western Journal ^ | May 14, 2026 | Jack Davis

A new report revealed that Iran has seized a ship laden with weapons and is taking it back to Iran.

The so-called “floating armory” was based in the Gulf of Oman, according to Vanguard, a maritime risk management company.

The ship is “bound for Iranian territorial waters,” Britain’s Maritime Trade Operations group said, according to the BBC.

The BBC said the Honduras-flagged Hui Chuan had told Vanguard it was operating as a floating armory, designed to store weapons that would be needed by security companies that protect ships from piracy.

The BBC said the ship was last documented to be about 40 miles off the coast of the United Arab Emirates and has spent the past month in that region.

Ships that store weapons for private security firms are based in the Red Sea, Gulf of Aden, and Gulf of Oman to allow firms to easily access weapons.

The seizure of Hui Chuan came after an Indian-flagged vessel was sunk off the coast of Oman after being hit by either a drone or missile.

Our intelligence on these matters seems to be very bad. Were that not the case WE would have had that ship under surveillance and intercepted the Iranian ship that went after it.

No problem. Give it one warning to surrender, then blow it out of the water. It'll blow up real good.

Where were our Navy, Planes and Copters to shoot the Fast Boats?

While I think sinking anything that leaves the coast of Iran is good policy there may be wisdom in letting the Iranians harass the assets of countries who want us to fail, essentially forcing them to have skin in the game.

Which is why I’m skeptical. My guess is this is just propaganda....just like the previous video of “Iranian commandos ‘taking over a vessel’”, where the video showed nothing more than men climbing a ladder on the side of a ship and raising a flag - no video of conflict, or that the ship wasn’t already in their possession.

How hard is it to ‘seize’ a ship ‘bound for Iran’? Was it already past the blockade? I’m sure we’re largely looking for oil ships, not just any ship (?). Either way, it’s just odd, probably more to what is being disclosed.

At least a couple of assumptions there. That we didn't have such an attractive target under surveillance, and that we do not intend to deal with the issue in a more profitable fashion.

Maybe it contains two-handed pagers and firearms that have a tendency to backfire!

Our intelligence on these matters seems to be very bad.

It's too distracted spying on American Trad Catholics and school board attendees to pay attention to what our enemies are doing.

This could be a ship with insignificant weaponry and the risk to the crew could be great if something was done, after all, these are weapons for civilian contractors on civilian ships.

Or it could be an intelligence and operation failure, too early to tell what it is.

At least a couple of assumptions there. That we didn't have such an attractive target under surveillance, and that we do not intend to deal with the issue in a more profitable fashion.

One more: That the area was secure enough to bring force to bear with a high degree of confidence that our losses would be minimal.

designed to store weapons that would be needed by security companies that protect ships from piracy.

Then we're talking about small arms, hence not an issue.

What the hell are we doing?

Why is the story not “The Navy announced a seized Honduran flagged ship was disabled to prevent its capture by Iranian IRGC. Units are being dispatched to tow it to friendly waters.”

Stop pussyfooting with these vermin. Kill them and keep killing them until this crap stops. Sooner or later someone sane will be left in charge.
