CNN’s Harry Enten gives Democrats ‘big-time reality check’ ahead of midterm elections

CNN’s top data cruncher Harry Enten delivered a sobering message for Democrats on Tuesday, warning that Republicans remain firmly competitive ahead of the November midterms despite President Trump’s sagging poll numbers and voter frustration over the rising cost of living.

Appearing on “CNN News Central,” Enten pointed to fresh polling showing that a large majority of Americans blame Trump for the higher cost of living — but said Democrats have failed to translate that dissatisfaction into a commanding political advantage.

“I think this poll serves as a big-time reality check for Democrats, and that is it ain’t over yet, especially with the redistricting when we look ahead to the 2026 race for Congress,” Enten opined. His comments were reported by the news site Mediaite.

“You would have thought that the Democrats’ lead would expand on the generic congressional ballot. It didn’t happen.”

Host John Berman referenced a CNN survey showing that 77% of Americans hold Trump responsible for increased living expenses, then pressed Enten on whether Dems were seeing any meaningful political benefit from the president’s struggles.

The guru said the numbers suggest otherwise.

Drawing from aggregate congressional ballot polling, Enten noted that Democrats’ advantage has significantly narrowed since last year.

He said Democrats were ahead by roughly six points in March of last year but now hold only a three-point edge — a margin small enough to fall within statistical uncertainty.

“It is within the margin of error,” Enten said.

“So, despite all of the talk about Donald Trump’s unpopularity, the fact is, Republicans very much remain in the game when it comes to the congressional midterms.”

The warning comes as Democrats have attempted to capitalize on backlash surrounding Trump’s handling of the economy and foreign policy, including criticism tied to military action against Iran.

But Enten...

Poor economic conditions rub both ways against all incumbent politicians Republican or Democrat.

The out party in each race gets a shot at winning with inflation the way it is now etc.

…which is sad. Few have the brain cells to understand how each party effects their future and their children’s future .

Dems could make some headway but seeing as they want high gas prices and high inflation I don’t know how successful they really could be, I don’t see “importing more 3rd worlders” being a huge winning issue as they imagine.

Some of us actually have memories long enough to remember how much worse inflation was under President Autopen’s handlers.

“It’s the economy stupid” Carville said and the point can be made that you end up with “stupid” voting.

I don’t agree. Enten seems to be playing to us these days since people on the left hate him.

RCP average shows a 6.6% lead for the rats, and per the graph, still growing.

Does a group of fake polls make them better?

Richard Baris of the Big Data Poll is one of the ones included there. You’re familiar with him aren’t you? A former regular on the Steve Bannon show, and championed by many Freepers right here for years as one of the few honest polls. Well as of this week, and therefore included in that 6.6% rat average advantage, he’s showing D 50% and R 39% for a big fat -11% for the Republicans. What’s your excuse for him? Just another huge Trump supporter who now has TDS? Get real. RMG is listed in that average too, a big fat -9% for Republicans. You’re just mad because of why that is.

It’s truly astonishing that so many Marxist-Democrat supporters and Republican supporters of RINOs have been so successfully indoctrinated that they willingly vote contrary to their own personal interests!

“RCP average shows a 6.6% lead for the rats, and per the graph, still growing.”

No idea where Enten pulled that bogus 3% number from.

But he certainly has become the go-to guy for alleged data analysis from the left-wing media; if we MUST hear from CNN for any reason, it might as well be what we want to hear.

If the Rat advantage really does drop to 3% (preferably lower) by election day, then Republicans might have an even-money shot at keeping the House. At 5% or worse, zero chance. And yes, that’s WITH factoring redistricting into the equation.

Bannon has become unwatchable with his anti-Israel nonsense. Waiting for him to start chanting River to the Sea.

Richard Barris has been wrong before. Fake News polls are only designed to help Dims raise campaign funds. Trump is taking on one of the biggest problems in the world and will solve it.

Do you forget who got the gas prices under $2/gal this year and now getting blamed for $5/gal. You think he should open the borders for cheap labor for food production?

Bannon has become unwatchable

I can proudly and honestly say I warned people against him years ago now, after being a daily watcher of War Room pretty much since the show started. I began to recognize the dishonesty in many of his guests, that I had formerly revered, Cash Patel being one of the first that tipped me off to it.

But the fact that even you have now turned on Bannon, is perfect demonstration of what the core issue is with the Republicans right now - the complete loss of trust in many of the main figures of the right, starting with Trump himself.

Sure I know you worship the ground that he, and his closest disciples walk on, your Sunday morning sermons always in his honor are the one of the brightest examples on this site of that. But most people aren’t over the moon with him anymore, FYI. And there’s nothing wrong with US, as you and your type or so quick to insist, we’ve just wised up to all the phoniness and aren’t going to just accept being lied to or backstabbed anymore, by any of the Republicans who were doing it to us long before Trump.

As I said, even you are experiencing it some yourself now with Bannon. Maybe even Pam Bondi and her mission to protect pedophiles opened your eyes a little, but if it didn’t, then don’t assume others are as gullible. These polls are showing that many independents are flipping straight from R to D in the here and now. And that’s not even counting all the discouraged Republicans like me who wouldn’t dare vote D, but instead just may not even vote this time, at all.

If you feel I’m unloading on you unfairly here, sorry, but I’m just sick of the “attack anyone on a personal level as a fraud or evil” act you just displayed, simply because they’re not very enthused about how things have gone since the last election, or are rightfully concerned that the end result is that some truly evil people, the Democrats, are probably about to be swept into power again right after we had just handed them a huge defeat. Even if we do somehow hang on, it will be more likely the result of gerrymandering the election, than anything. We’re in a tough spot, and it’s pretty much all self inflicted wounds.
