A Texas city scrapped a “Muslim only” holiday event hosted by an Islamic group at a taxpayer-funded waterpark hours after Gov. Greg Abbott threatened to pull state funding if it went forward.
Grand Prairie city officials axed the upcoming Eid event at Epic Indoor Park Wednesday night, shortly after the Republican warned Mayor Ron Jensen that the state would yank $530,000 in public safety grants if the gathering — initially advertised as “exclusively reserved for Muslims” — wasn’t shut down.
“After further review and in the best interest of the City of Grand Prairie, the June 1 Eid event at Epic Waters Indoor Waterpark has been canceled,” a city spokesperson told The Post in a statement. Earlier Wednesday, Abbott fired off a blistering letter to the city, blasting the DPW Epic Eid event — held at the city-owned indoor park for the past two years — as discriminatory and a constitutional violation after it was initially closed to the public and strictly catered to Muslim attendees.

If I go to Mexico, I don’t expect them to become like me, I act like them. I surely do not criticize any of their traditions.
For most Christians, religion is something we do on Sunday, believe in all the time (hopefully), and it guides us in our decision making, but it does not usually dictate the law of the land, what we eat, how we dress, what we’re allowed to say, what we’re allowed to draw, what our schools teach, it does not prescribe the punishments for various violations, how banks must operate...
In Islam every aspect of society is government in some way by religion. Islam becomes the sole means of organizing society once it becomes a major religion in a country.
Many of the Islamic traditions and rules, stand in opposition to Western values and philosophical movements which have shaped Western society: age of enlightenment.
How do you accommodate this?
You can’t. You can be as accommodating as you want, they also have to be flexible, and they are not.
They are at best silent and reserved when in a minority. But as their numbers increase, the problems (((ALWAYS))) appear as they begin to make demands: Egypt, Sudan, Lebanon, Germany, France, India, Netherlands, Sweden, Russia, and even here in the US...
What this really means?
There will (((ALWAYS))) be friction between Muslims and any other Culture which has opted to host them. You have values and traditions that are incompatible, and this friction is cause for security concern, forever.
Real world example (I’m German decent): The Germans are primarily a pork eating country, they have a vast history and culture with beer, they had a historical nudist culture (FKK) and to this day do not be surprised if you see women topless at the local lake on a hot summer day. The Germans value free speech, equality between the sexes, and give homosexuals equal rights. How are you going to mix that with Islam? LOL People like Merkel, bringing 1.2 million of these people into the country within a short time span, are misguided.
Allowing for mass immigration from majority Muslim nations is reckless, it is irresponsible policy that is a short term solution but creates a much larger long term problem.
Basically, immigration from these nations needs to be highly selective and not in mass.

Abbott and Paxton are 100% spot on. The idea is not to persecute these people, but ideally to assimilate them, and if that can’t be attained, at least to foster a culture of mutual respect and where they acknowledge the laws and cultural norms of the US as we do theirs.
