Iranian airstrikes have damaged or destroyed at least 228 structures or pieces of equipment at U.S. military sites across the Middle East since the war began, hitting hangars, barracks, fuel depots, aircraft and key radar, communications and air defense equipment, according to a Washington Post analysis of satellite imagery. The amount of destruction is far larger than what has been publicly acknowledged by the U.S. government or previously reported.
The threat of air attacks rendered some of the U.S. bases in the region too dangerous to staff at normal levels, and commanders moved most of the personnel from these sites out of the range of Iranian fire at the start of the war, officials have said.
Satellite imagery of the Middle East is unusually difficult to acquire at present. Two of the largest commercial providers, Vantor and Planet, have complied with requests from the U.S. government โ their biggest customer โ to limit, delay or indefinitely withhold the publication of imagery of the region while the war is ongoing, making it difficult or impossible to assess Iranโs counterstrikes. Those restrictions began less than two weeks into the war.
Iranian state-affiliated news agencies, however, have from the start regularly published high-resolution satellite imagery on their social media accounts that claimed to document damage to U.S. sites.

I wonder what else didn’t happen
“Looking at this satellite image, I can see a chunk of concrete that was destroyed at the corner of this taxiway. Okay. That counts as damage. Then there is the hand drawn oil bowser cart they use to service aircraft-that had the handle blown off. Put that on the list!”
Go Iran Go!!!!!
Yawn, more lies from the lying media.
I do not recall the US ever reporting Iran never hit anything, nor do I recall any US denials on equipment being damage. Just more yellow journalism.
I do recall Iran claiming the hit an aircraft carrier, where are the Wash Compost stories on how that was a lie or false claims?
Israel has a five year prison sentence for posting bomb damage pictures.
Way to go, al-Washington Post. ๐ ๐ ๐
Wow....5 ADULTS to write this.
Since when does the WaPoo “analyze” satellite imagery? What part of the IC are they?
Satellite images of damaged American bases from Iran's retaliatory strikes have been floating around on Twitter since early March.
The fact it's now being publicly discussed in mainstream American media means that Washington's prior attempts at suppressing the information are now being seen as futile (especially since it seems like the administration is now trying to pivot away from the whole debacle).
they are so invested in the IRGC winning this, when does it cross the line and become aid and comforting our enemies?
The WaPo rooting for the enemy since 1776.
Almost all these bases were built in the pre drone era. They were not designed to defend against pilotless bombs guided by precision guidance software. If the US is going to remain and fortify thegulf, the cost of upgrading these bases will be enormous. It is also not sustainable to destroy a $30,000 drone with a $1 million dollar missile. It is incumbent therefore that the mullah regime must be destroyed. If it remains, however weakened, there will be no end to this war.
You think so too?
Untrustworthy source.
Yeah let’s count the “pieces of equipment”.
I have no problem whatsoever with the military not releasing details on damages inflicted during a war.
“The WaPo rooting for the enemy since 1776.”
So do many freepers lately.
i wondered who still reads WaPo.
