A 12-year-old Florida girl is facing felony charges after authorities claim she used a classmate’s account to send a chilling threat to "shoot up" her elementary school.
The girl is charged with making written or electronic threats to kill and unlawful use of a two-way communications device, both felonies, according to the Volusia Sheriff's Office.
Over the weekend, detectives received a report about an explicit written threat sent to a teacher at Louise S. McInnis Elementary School. In addition to threatening the teacher, the sender said they were going to "shoot up" the school on the last day of class, according to the sheriff's office.
While the message was sent from a student account belonging to a 12-year-old boy, detectives determined it was sent by his ex-girlfriend, who had his login information, officials said.

Something in the home. Could be a genetic component, but IMHO it's very likely there's an issue in her home.
Just look to the caliber of her parent(s), to see why she said a thing like this.
"While the message was sent from a student account belonging to a 12-year-old boy, detectives determined it was sent by his ex-girlfriend, who had his login information"
It was the worst thing she could come up with to get even with the boyfriend. And this is a 12 yr old.
Having raised a 12 year old girl, I can tell you from experience that this is completely within the normal range of a pubescent girl.
The the emotional swings brought on by the hormonal swings can be jarring.
They can be psychotic at times.
Your only hope as a parent is to keep tight reigns on your girl if she is acting out.
My daughter gave a “friend” her log in. The friend logged in and sent some messages that got my daughter hauled into the principal’s office.
Sometimes kids need to learn that lesson the hard way.
“...a 12-year-old boy, detectives determined it was sent by his ex-girlfriend...”
I don’t know Florida law, but a 12-year-old girl might well be under the age of facing serious punishment for her threat. She might even be too young had she carried out the threat.
“Florida 12-year-old accused of threatening teacher, saying she will ‘shoot up’ school (white wench)”. I guess she wasn’t very hot for teacher.
I don’t recall anything like that among the girls I grew up with in the 1960s. We may have gotten a little moody now and then due to hormones, but not nasty and threatening like this.
Same when I was a girl in the 70s. We might have been moody, but not insane. I did not have a boyfriend at 12-years-old either.
Adding a guy into the mix changes things. Jealousy and hormones are a bad combo.
She may be to young in the eyes of the law but given access to the right weapon, she could damn well carry out the threat. If you’re the one shot your first thought won’t be “shucks, she’s only 12”. The LEO down there better jack her parents up. They apparently aren’t doing their job. WTF
EXACTLY...something else here...altho the gutter culture exposure does not help.
Exactly..look at the green hair on the kid... probably from the blue haired mom and blond tipped dad...😳
Young people are exposed to all sorts of unhealthy stuff now that we never witnessed.
I am not and never have been a girl nor do I intend to become one - but it seems like something has really changed with regard to those who are “assigned female at birth”. I’m sure it’s a function of cultural/societal influences and the modern version of family life, but it’s really quite shocking. Especially the number of young female teachers who are being charged with sex crimes. We’re like frogs in the pot of hot water because that NEVER happened 30-50 years ago. And now it seems that the laws put in place to protect minors from being treated like adults need to be reconsidered, since they’re certainly doing crimes like adults.
She may be to young in the eyes of the law but given access to the right weapon, she could damn well carry out the threat.
Many years ago, I worked at a juvenile prison. Two of our inmates were in for murder—well not really, according to the law at the time they were in for juvenile delinquency. One murdered his stepfather and the other murdered his friend’s mother—with an axe. Both were 13 at the time they did their deals. Both were released many decades ago.
Some of the fellows I have worked with had girls. Most of them concur that the optimum method of management for them would be to lock them away when they turn 12 and leave them until some later date to be determined. Perhaps at least 20 something?
Kids see siblings playing incredibly violent video games. Then mom and dad are watching John Wick 1-4 (my favorites) and Denzel Washington’s The Equalizer 1-3 films. Then hear Dems on TV like Hakeem Jeffries calling for all out warfare.
Along with all day coverage of assassination attempts and public mass shootings. Or stabbings.
So if someone at school gets on their nerves, go for broke.
I’ll get flamed for this, but the black ghetto “gangbanger” culture has been instilled in the past two generations so deeply, kids of all stripes don’t think twice about doing this.
