Iran’s Fars news agency, citing local sources, reports two missiles hit a US navy vessel near Jask island after it ignored warnings from the Revolutionary Guard to halt.
The reported attack comes after President Trump said the US will begin “Project Freedom” on Monday to “guide” stranded ships out of the Strait of Hormuz.
US Central Command said it would support the effort with 15,000 military personnel, more than 100 land and sea-based aircraft, along with warships and drones.

Not meaning to be a smart ass, but look at what Ukraine has done to Russian traditional navy without much of one.
Todays reality, you don’t need a navy to attack another countries navy.
As for validity of attack will wait for more conformation

If there’s a U.S. Navy vessel near Jask, it might be in Iranian territorial waters. Jask is on the Gulf of Oman, not the Strait of Hormuz.

I think Congress has to step up to the plate. The idea that Iran can block the strait...is just plain wrong. To walk away now gives Iran the power they want. Attack the Island...and finish it off....
They have about 800 of those little “fast boats”...like the one that took out the Cole.

If this story is true, and if there wasn’t an A10 in the air to nail that IRGC boat before it struck, then there’s an admiral who should lose his job.
Two things come to mind.
The first is I thought we destroyed their navy.
The second was that war game that happened years ago when the “opposition” used a fleet of small boats to attack the US Navy and inflicted damage. I guess no one read those notes.
Well Trump claims Iran has no Navy....so might be someone is either confused or fibbing... Even though they have the means to attack...
