A vehicle carrying explosives crashed through the front entrance of an athletic club in downtown Portland, Oregon, early Saturday morning, authorities said, causing significant damage to the building. The driver was found dead inside the vehicle.
Portland Fire and Rescue said firefighters responded to a report of a vehicle driving into the front entrance of the Multnomah Athletic Club a little before 3 a.m. local time.
The vehicle caught fire after the crash, the fire department said. Once the blaze was brought under control, law enforcement found the deceased driver inside, the Portland Police Bureau reported. A club spokesperson told CBS News that no employees or members were injured.

From another source:
https://www.opb.org/article/2026/05/02/portland-multnomah-athletic-club-crash/
Portland police officer Jim DeFrain, supervisor of the explosive disposal unit, described the scene as the most complex heโs encountered in 13 years with the city.
Crew members worked 14 hours with limited breaks, using robot technology to identify, move and disarm improvised explosives and other incendiaries, he said. Among those devices were propane tanks and pipe bombs. Some were set off, others started to ignite, but were not fully consumed.

God forbid we should click the link and read a little. ๐
My guess is a VERY disgruntled ex-employee that may have actually become unhinged.
Kudos to you for actually clicking thru and finding that. Very un-Freeper-like.
A strike at 3 AM would indicate that the objective was not to kill people. But suicide by athletic club doesn’t make much sense.
