The war between the US and Iran is “likely” to restart, a senior Iranian official predicted on the heels of comments by President Trump that the US might be “better off” without an agreement.
A “renewed conflict between Iran and the United States is likely,” said Mohammad Jafar Asadi, a high-level officer in Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.
Iran’s leadership, which has been decimated by US strikes, wants to reopen the Strait of Hormuz and end the US blockade before reestablishing nuclear talks, according to details of its latest counterproposal, which was presented to intermediaries in Pakistan. Trump told reporters Friday he was “not satisfied” with the offer.
“Frankly, maybe we’re better off not making a deal at all. Do you want to know the truth? Because we can’t let this thing go on,” he said Friday during an event in West Palm Beach, Florida.

Russia’s tied up in Ukraine. Chicoms hurtin’ for the oil. Cuba is suffering and Venezuela is taken care of. I wonder if Rocket man is taking notice. NATO certainly is.
It’s global chess and Trump’s showing who’s better at it.
I don’t think Trump really wants to restart this thing. I think he acts mostly done with it. It is just more pleasant without it. heh
More bombs is not going to end it. The other alternative, well, nothing good is going to come from that for Trump.
So what was the point?
Hopefully the intelligence to organize, equip, inform, and supply an Iranian internal opposition has been ongoing under the radar.
I have my doubts about that.
And what is the inevitable?
Israel can whack Iran’s oil industry and revenue by means proven by Ukraine to work well [Russian LNG tanker sinking, refinery attacks by drone] for which the leading nations of the West and their leftist leaders didn’t yell “war crime” or “genocide”.

Getting it over with would ignore the vitally important political angle. This is something Trump, who knows midterms are coming up and his Iran gambit isn’t popular, is painfully aware of. He has to appear to be the reasonable sane man; while occasionally saying things to indicate he’s volatile, unpredictable and the Iranians better pay attention or he’ll nuke them and their mothers. It’s a difficult tightrope to walk and we should give him maneuvering room. My impression is, he’s a maestro of politics unlike anyone since Reagan.
Problem is, once the Democrats are back in power, the Mullahs will return, stronger than ever.
Israel goaded Trump into starting the war.
IRGC is goading Trump into restarting the war.
Israel will be the go to guy to finish off Irans infrastructure and oil storage. Without storage facilities, Iran is toast.
