LAS VEGAS — Nevada Gov. Joe Lombardo is trying to run a reelection campaign befitting the neon-drenched, sagebrush-pocked desert he has for five decades called home.
President Donald Trump is making that hard.
The Republican governor started the year with a sevenfold fundraising advantage, double-digit net favorability ratings and the tailwinds of a swing state the GOP presidential candidate carried for the first time in two decades. Five months later, he finds himself in a neck-and-neck race with Democrat Aaron Ford, the state’s attorney general, yoked to a highly unpopular president, a wobbling economy and a Middle Eastern war that has sent gas prices in the state soaring from $3.50 to $5 a gallon, among the highest in the nation.

I know nothing about Nevada, but I can say that the GOP is almost certainly going to lose the governor’s race in Ohio. Ramaswamy is a terrible GOP candidate. But he’s the nominee because the best other candidate withdrew after Trump endorsed Ramaswamy, and had the Ohio GOP do the same.
Sounds like she has been roofied by the Lezberals.
Democrats run bad candidates all the time and the party still votes for for them. No Democrat is better than the Republican option, ever, never gonna happen. All Democrat politicians are perverts, criminals, liars, and monsters.

Tom Brady, Fenando Mendoza is all you need to know. These two will open their mouth and breath in Oct 2024 and everything from the odds on the table to the second coming will be interpreted from that.
It's a shame that those two counties basically call the shots in rural Nevada. It's the same with California, the west coast forces their Liberal view point on the rest of the mostly rural state.
At the most Southern part of Nevada, near the point of that state you have the town of Laughlin. Arizona and California are nearby.
Gas prices in Laughlin, Nevada, are averaging around $4.95 .In Bullhead City, Arizona, gas is as low as $3.91. In Needles California it is over 6$ a gallon. A war in the Mid East is not as painful as Democrats determining the price of your Gas. People forget how high gas was when the Biden coup was pursuing its Carbon Scam.
Clark county and Washoe county (vegas/reno) pretty much control politics in NV. Vegas is solid blue and Reno is bluish purple. The other counties are solid red. But, not enough population.
We know lots of folks in eastern/northern cali.

When an area casts 85-90% of the votes in the entire state, as Clark+Washoe do in Nevada, you can pretty safely call it a “bellwether” though that’s not really the normal definition of the term. :-)
If Lombardo was running for a senate seat I’d send him $100 like I do with the others. My only criteria is we put out a top-tier candidate with a chance to flip the seat. Lombardo has the benefit of incumbency and he’s on his own.

Fine. I’d rather lose a Governor election than a senate one. Vivek is in a race where he just might be exposed as a charlatan who thinks he’s good enough to be POTUS. Let us all find out in November if he’s convincing enough to give the statehouse keys to. If he wins he’’ll have 6-8 years to prove he’s the real deal.

I live in the Eastern Sierra just a few miles from the Nevada border and we travel to Carson City and Reno for most of our shopping and medical services. Even bought my car Carson.
