~The FReeper Canteen Presents~ Road Trip: Pope Field, North Carolina
Pope Field is a U.S. military facility located 12 miles northwest of the central business district of Fayetteville, in Cumberland County, North Carolina. Formerly known as Pope Air Force Base, the facility is now operated by the U.S. Air Force via a memorandum of agreement (MOA), and an inter-services support agreement (ISSA) with the U.S Army as part of Fort Bragg.

The United States Army Fort Bragg Garrison is the host organization at Pope Field. The garrison provides airfield support, security, and protection to include emergency medical and fire response, aircraft security, and transient alert support. It also provides installation support and is responsible to execute the Inter-Service Support Agreement in providing support to United States Air Force (USAF) tenants to include services, facility maintenance, and morale, welfare and recreation support.
The United States Air Force 43d Airlift Group was activated at Pope on 1 March 2011, and later redesignated the 43d Air Mobility Operations Group (AMOG) in 2016. The unit performs en route operations support to include mission command and control, aircrew management, aircraft maintenance, aircraft loading, aircraft fueling and supply, air traffic control, and aircraft landing systems maintenance. Furthermore, the 43 AMOG coordinates and supports joint training exercises for Fort Bragg's XVIII Airborne Corps and 82nd Airborne Division. Finally, the 43 AMOG is the lead Air Force unit responsible for rapid deployment coordination of the 82nd Airborne Division's Immediate Response Force (IRF).
Over its history, Pope AFB hosted some of the most important units around the American forces, such as the 10th Tactical Reconnaissance Group, the 4415th Air Base Group, the 464-th Troop Carrier Wing, the 317th Tactical Airlift Wing or the 23rd Wing. The 23rd Wing won a few unit awards too while being hosted at this base.

Hey there, radu!
Sure did, though I didn’t get outside. I’ve been very tired all day for some reason. Plus, like you, it was too breezy to be comfortable.
I’m guessing you galz had fun under the tent today? Has it gotten busier this week?

Lucky you, being able to stay inside out of the wind. I wish I could have. It was awful today, and gonna be worse the rest of the week.
We had a great time today, as always.
But no, not any busier and it won’t be. Not for local and state elections.

I’m glad y’all have each other to entertain yourselves during this slow time. Too bad you have to stay out there in that wind, though. It cuts right through ya! Or it has me. LOL!

And we do entertain ourselves. And the people who come over to the tent either before going in to vote or when they come back out. They hear us laughing and just have to come over to see what’s going on. The mayor’s office is in the same building here voting is done, and he comes out 2 or 3 times a day to sit with us. He’ll say, I got bored again. Need some fun.” LOL
The wind is aggravating, blowing stuff off the tables that we have to pick up over and over again. And I was glad I had Chap Stick in my purse today because my lips chapped. They’re still a little sore even now.

I think we should change the name from Pope field to Trump field. It would aggravate all the right people.

A very pleasant good Tuesday morning and ((HUGS)) to everyone at the Canteen and to all our military at home and abroad. Thanks for your service to our country, thanks Lauren for this morning's thread and thanks Luvie for posting it for Lauren.
Well, they round the rear brake shoes soaked with fluid from the brake cylinders yesterday during the service visit. I'm going to take it back up there Wednesday and have it diagnosed and taken care. We didn't have any problems yesterday driving it though.
Also, the home remodel guys are scheduled to return later today to work on the bathroom.
Yesterday at Comanche Lake:

How's everyone doing this morning?

If even the mayor is wanting to get in on the fun, then you guys must be laughing really loud and having so much fun with the whole thing.
The wind IS aggravating. It really blew when it was raining last night, and got everything on the porch wet that wasn’t inside the shelters. Very messy!

Howdy, E.G.C. ((HUGZ))
Yikes! Don’t drive any more than you have to until you get the brakes fixed. They could go out at any time. We don’t want you and Gizmo to get hurt.
Looks like Gizmo had a good time dragging you around the lake yesterday.
I hope the remodel guys knock out the bathroom quickly. This has dragged on a while and I’d say you’re ready to have a normal life back.
Bet everything looks really nice now though.

He doesn’t go out there because he can hear us from his office. He knows us and knows we have fun, and he enjoys joining in. :-)
Wind blowing rain and soaking everything is pretty much a given here every time. It’s rare the rain just falls straight down. That’s fine. I don’t have anything on the porch but potted plants and they get a fresh drink. :-)
Time to head out. Gotta finish a few things before hitting the pillows. Catch ya tomorrow for the quiz.

Nighty-night! Enjoy another fun day with your friends...and the mayor...tomorrow. I hope the wind isn’t as fierce tomorrow as it was today. I hope that for us, too. LOL!
Yep...see ya for the quiz. I’m beginning to get sleepy, too.
