Labor Secretary Lori Chavez-DeRemer resigns from Trump admin after misconduct investigation first exposed by The Post

Labor Secretary Lori Chavez-DeRemer resigned from her position on Monday amid a watchdog misconduct probe, making her the third cabinet official to depart the Trump administration this year, sources told The Post.

Deputy Labor Secretary Keith Sonderling is expected to replace her as acting secretary of the Department of Labor, sources noted.

Chavez-DeRemer, 58, will follow four other staffers out of department who were all investigated and resigned amid the Office of Inspector General’s sprawling investigation. NOTUS first reported on the secretary’s exit.

White House spokesman Steven Cheung announced minutes after the report that Chavez-DeRemer “will be leaving the Administration to take a position in the private sector.”

“She has done a phenomenal job in her role by protecting American workers, enacting fair labor practices, and helping Americans gain additional skills to improve their lives,” Cheung posted on X.

The Post first exposed a whistleblower complaint filed against the labor secretary in January that alleged she had been engaged in an extramarital affair with her security guard, drank in the office during work hours and committed “travel fraud” by having her top aides “make up” official trips to destinations where she could spend time with family or friends on the taxpayers’ dime.

If she had been a Democrat, she would have directed funds to an NGO that would have hired her lover and offered a "speaking fee" + travel to wherever she wanted.

All legal! /s

Lori Chavez-DeRemer, Kristi Noem, Pam Bondi although Trump made good choices with Tulsi Gabbard and Linda McMahon. Trump is doing better with men—Pete Hegseth, Marco Rubio, JD Vance and Scott Bessent.

Why do we still even need a Dept. of Labor?

One thing about AWFUL RAT politicians. They aren’t satisfied with just stealing elections like most Handmaiden tails. They steal millions of taxpayer dollars too. That blue hair-dye must be expensive.

She should switch parties to Democrat. Those accusations are resume enhancing for a Democrat candidate.

She was confirmed in a 67-32 vote, with Sen. Rand Paul as the only Republican to vote against her confirmation.

It was created because there was so much corruption in labor unions.

Labor Sec. is where you appoint some good ole boy as caretaker, nobody even knew who this broad was. Just put someone in there who won’t embarrass you - like she has.

I still suspect there was more to the departure of Kristi Noem than her making a 200k promotional video for the department which was probably a thinly veiled campaign video. That would get you a behind the scenes reprimand from the boss. There had to be more going on.
