The Supreme Court will be issuing Opinions for cases from the October 2025 term this morning at 10.
Scotusblog will be live-blogging the Opinion releases and we will be following along.
A list of cases for this term can be found at the link just below.
One case of interest is the Voting Rights case since it is the only remaining case pending from the October sitting.
Louisiana v. Callais Issue(s): Whether Louisiana’s intentional creation of a second majority-minority congressional district violates the 14th or 15th Amendments to the U.S. Constitution.
A preview of the case can be found here:
Of course, we may not get that opinion or any others of major interest but it is always good to tune in to see what Court decisions may be shaping our nation's future.

Rumor has it that the minority are dragging their feet in issuing the opinion.
Rumor has it that the minority are dragging their feet in issuing the opinion.
Yeah, I read about that. The rumors are that the liberals are in the minority on the decision and are dragging their feet on writing their dissent to delay the Opinions release as long as possible.
They want to make sure no state has time to redraw their districts before the mid-term elections. I think it is already too late but leftists are gonna do what they are gonna do.
Only one box of opinions so we likely will only get 1 or 2 cases today.
We have only one opinion for today.
It is from Justice Thomas — Chevron USA v. Plaquemines Parish, LA
Chevron USA Inc. v. Plaquemines Parish, Louisiana No. 24-813 [Arg: 01.12.2026]
Issue(s): (1) Whether a causal-nexus or contractual-direction test survives the 2011 amendment to the federal-officer removal statute, which provides federal jurisdiction over civil actions against “any person acting under [an] officer” of the United States “for or relating to any act under color of such office”; and (2) whether a federal contractor can remove to federal court when sued for oil-production activities undertaken to fulfill a federal oil-refinement contract.
Wouldn’t it be quicker to get the opinions of the money people behind the SCOTUS?
The vote is 8-0; Justice Jackson concurs in the judgment, Alito was recused.

This was a case in which Chevron was seeking to rely on a federal law known as the “federal officer removal statute” to transfer an environmental lawsuit brought against it in Louisiana state court to federal court.
Chevron contended that it could move the lawsuit because it implicates Chevron’s production of crude oil for the US military during World War 2.
The court holds that the lawsuit falls under the statute, and thus Chevron can remove the lawsuit to federal court, because it “relates to” Chevron’s wartime refining of aviation gasoline for the military.
They want to make sure no state has time to redraw their districts“
Rat appointments are not judicial they are political. When it comes to the judiciary it is unilateral warfare.
The court reverses the Fifth Circuit, holding that it was wrong when it concluded that “the suit against Chevron was not ‘for or relating to’ its performance of federal duties.” The court thus sends the case back to the lower court for another look.
Another win for Paul Clement.
(Justice Alito recused himself due to stock ownership).
That’s all for today. I assume the Court will have another opinion day next week but they haven’t entered anything on their calendar yet.
“Rat appointments are not judicial they are political. When it comes to the judiciary it is unilateral warfare.”
Yep. As evidenced by the quality of their SCOTUS appointees.
In other news for the day, oil is down over 10% and gasoline down over 7%.
So.....Happy Friday folks!
Down to $5.09 at some Reno stores. 😵
Does this involve an entity called Earth Justice? They’re going after the government for critical mineral mining in California and just wanted to see if they’re involved in this as well. They’re funded by China

Does Nevada get its gasoline from California refineries?
What refineries in CA?
They’re all leaving or have left. I think we have like 2 left, maybe.
They get their gas in CA approved blends, which to my understanding, is pretty much refined on the east coast(and somewhere in the middle east), and sent via boat to CA harbors. NV and AZ get screwed by CA’s absolute BS.
