Virginia Governor Abigail Spanberger has signed legislation that enters the Commonwealth into an interstate compact to give its electoral votes to the presidential ticket that receives the most popular votes in all 50 states and the District of Columbia.
Virginia is now the 18th state to join the National Popular Vote Compact (HB 965/ SB 322). The legislation passed both houses of the General Assembly, mostly along party lines. Spanberger signed the bill on Monday, April 13.

Not legal, not constitutional. States can’t enter into interstate compacts with other states.
Ridiculous. She just nullified the voters in her state, if they ever follow through on this nonsense.
Is this even Constitutional?
Where is SCOTUS?
It’s all blue states.
Watch them have a cow if Vance wins the popular vote of]ver Newsome in 2028.

UNCONSTITUTIONAL.
Virginia is going to be renamed South Maryland.
Does anyone honestly think that had the ‘National Vote Compact’ had been in effect in 2024, that California and the other blue states that signed it would give their electoral votes to Trump?
Blue-state governors would call their legislatures into emergency session and simply pass a new law voiding the compact. Or even more simply, state legislatures would exercise their Constitutional right to vote for anyone they damn well pleased.
Maybe the Western part of the state will join West Virginia.
Is this legal or just more treason?
Charlie Kirk posted the National Vote Interstate Compact map for 2024. Trump got over 500+ electoral votes.
Sooooooo, no need to bother actually voting in Virginia anymore.
She just nullified the voters in her state...
In regard to the US President, what vote are citizens of this state guaranteed per the Constitution?

Well, actually states may enter into certain interstate compacts.
Yes, according to the Compact Clause (Article I, Section 10, Clause 3) of the U.S. Constitution, interstate compacts generally require congressional approval, especially if they increase state political power or infringe upon federal supremacy. However, the Supreme Court has determined that only compacts impacting federal balance require consent, leaving those that don’t increase state power exempt.
Which means, California's Republican votes will swing every POTUS election away from the Demagogic Party after this ridiculous compact goes into effect. G'head, pass it, a-holes!
Making small states meaningless
