The White House warned Iran Wednesday to keep the Strait of Hormuz in the Persian Gulf open amid reports that it is closing the strait over Israeli military action in Lebanon.
The United States and Iran agreed to a two-week ceasefire Tuesday night but Iran claimed Wednesday that the U.S. must rein in Israel and end the fighting in Lebanon if it wants to maintain the ceasefire.
White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said the alleged closure of the strait, based on reports from Iranian state media, is "completely unacceptable."

Iran is going to get hit with a bunch of strongly worded tweets.
Already they're changing the terms of the agreement. I'm shocked.
I know it’s a trivial thing. And, news organizations are probably just pulling out a generic stock photo.
But, it is amusing that nearly every article on the closing of the Strait uses a photo of an empty tanker. One riding high on its waterline.
Iran wont open it, they think they have the upper hand now and pretty much own it..so either Trump lets them do whatever they want or bomb their asses. NO ONE should be controlling the strait, it should be open to EVERYONE freely
Iran-do they or do they not have a go to guy that speaks for the regime? There’s probably a few rogue elements wanting to screw things up rather than work with the great satan.
It might take a civil war before it’s settled.
Sing to the tune of Barbra Ann:
Bomb, bomb, bomb, Bomb bomb Iran...
Bomb, bomb, bomb, Bomb bomb Iran...
Agreed, so if there are going to be tolls for going through the Strait……are we going to split the tolls with Iran? Are they now our business partner?
I have tried - and even tried by just limiting myself to reading what the administration has said - but I still don’t understand what the “agreement” is?!?!
Sure, I know it’s not the leftist pipe dream about Iran’s ridiculous “10 point plan”.
However, it does seem like the “2 million yuan fee, payable to Iran” to cross Hormuz is real. And that did not exist in February.
I’m glad there was a ceasfire agreement last night - lord knows my portfolio is double-glad - but I’m really struggling to understand the specifics and what the ceasefire means.
Same here!
Tweets took out Iran’s leaders?
That’ll be one huge toll plaza!
The next thing they’ll demand is for Netanyahu to become a Shia Muslim.
This ceasefire is already a sad joke... The also want to continue enriching uranium and eventually obliterate Israel... Thankfully, that will never happen. The key outcome of any negotiations will be to require a release of all political prisoners and elimination of Iran’s current regime... It that doesn’t happen... This entire war will be a complete failure. There is only one way to actually win this war or any war... A complete and unconditional surrender.
If this current Iranian regime doesn’t do that, they will be the winners.
For sure…..lol
Can’t fix stupid. Nothing like digging your own grave. Kill them all.
Pakistan and Iran say Lebanon was included in the agreement. The US and Israel say Lebanon was not. Both of these can not be true.
“I have tried - and even tried by just limiting myself to reading what the administration has said - but I still don’t understand what the “agreement” is?!?!”
I know PDJT can’t disclose everything to us, but more clarification than we’ve gotten might mitigate the major shift in sentiment that’s begun since the “ceasefire” began. I realize some remain confident that this is all a master play by PDJT - and I certainly remain hopeful - but the last 24 hours has been a bucket of ice water in many supporters’ faces.
This should not be unexpected. The Iranian Theocracy has NEVER honored any other agreement. No reason to expect otherwise, this time.
DJT may have overplayed his hand, I fear. The recovery will be ferocious, bloody, and explosive. Or, it should be...
You do realize that we have been singing that since 1979.
I wonder if they will have any Stucky’s Log Rolls there as you pass through?
There must be a point of contact with the ships to collect fees, etc. It sounds like all they have to do is close a gate. Seems like it would be a sitting duck for a hell-fire missile.
