Iran has once again closed the Strait of Hormuz, blocking oil tankers from transiting the waterway, in retaliation for Israeli strikes on Hezbollah, Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps-tied outlet Fars News reported on Wednesday.
Oil tankers attempting to transit the strait received threatening messages from the Iranian Navy, according to several shipping sources.
"Any vessel trying to travel into the sea ... will be targeted and destroyed..." the message, which was received by several vessels, said.
This is a developing story.

Arab countries fear sanctions on Iran could soon be lifted and that Tehran may begin collecting fees from ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz, the Associated Press reported, citing a diplomat.
The diplomat, who spoke on condition of anonymity to discuss behind-the-scenes talks among Arab states, said countries astride the Persian Gulf were concerned any deal may not take their security interests into account, particularly regarding access to the strategic waterway.
The diplomat added that these states had not been invited to participate in ceasefire negotiations despite the talks affecting what he described as “the core of our security.”
What a shock. As long as they have the ability to shut off the Straits, they will find a reason to do it.
Iran’s Fars says that oil tanker traffic through Hormuz has been halted due to Israeli ceasefire violations in Lebanon.
Iran is going to mess up and get hammered.

The United States should never have gotten involved in a scenario where other countries can keep pulling a chain to force what they want. And it’s not just Iran doing the extorting.
