A US district judge on Friday denied the Trump administration’s request to reconsider the legality of two subpoenas targeting the Federal Reserve, after he blocked them last month.
In a biting six-page opinion, US District Judge James Boasberg wrote that the government had failed to provide any new evidence or identify any error in his March ruling. The chief judge of Washington’s federal trial court wrote that the government’s “cursory brief” does “not come close to convincing the Court that a different outcome is warranted.”

Last month, US Attorney Jeanine Pirro appealed the initial ruling, which blocked two subpoenas seeking Federal Reserve records relevant to a criminal investigation into Fed Chair Jerome Powell and the central bank’s over-budget headquarters renovation. *** Immediately after the decision, Pirro said the “outrageous” ruling by “activist judge” left Powell “bathed in immunity.”
Boasberg wrote Friday that the government was ignoring the crux of his initial ruling, which was that the subpoena power cannot be used to investigate someone for an improper purpose.
He argued that the subpoenas were not part of a real criminal investigation, but a tool to target Powell after months of President Trump pressuring the chairman to lower interest rates.
“No matter whom the subpoenas were addressed to … it was clear whom they sought dirt on: Powell,” Boasberg wrote.***

I’m hoping after the midterms , whether we hold control or not, Trump gives them all the middle finger and does what he wants. So what if they impeach him? It likely would take a couple years to work its way through the Senate and might not even work then. If Trump is thrown out that should give Vance a chance at bat which probably would be a good thing.

Boasberg is as corrupt as they come and there is no amount of legal reasoning that would change his leftist mind. The guy needs to be in orange rather than a black robe.

I’d add that Sullivan and many other judges in the DC circuit are right up there with boasberger. They all need a quick fair military trial and then a quick fair hanging, afterwards. Publicly.

The is the judge who gave Clinesmith a slap on the hand for falsifying a government document to say the exact opposite of what it actually said, in order to get a FISA warrant to spy on Carter Page and all those who contacted him. Including Trump.
Lying to a judge to target Trump is perfectly fine to Boassberg. But telling the truth to investigate Congressional perjury is off the table if the President has spoken out against the perjurer.
This guy is so evil. I want him to hang at Gitmo after a trial, right beside John Brennan.
