Rubio says US ‘to reexamine’ relations with NATO once Iran war is over

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio says that the United States “is going to have to reexamine” its relationship with NATO once the war against Iran has concluded.

“I think there’s no doubt, unfortunately, after this conflict is concluded, we are going to have to reexamine that relationship. We’re going to have to reexamine the value of NATO in that alliance for our country,” Rubio says on Fox News, adding that “ultimately” it would be a decision for President Donald Trump to make.

The US should have pulled out of NATO in the '90s, after the collapse of the Soviet Union. Instead, like all bureaucracies, it just continues - draining the pockets of US taxpayers and enabling Western Europe to live a life free of defense spending. We need to get out of NATO.

Unfortunately, NATO membership is subject to a treaty - I don't know the details but I assume Congressional approval will be needed for US withdrawal from NATO and the Senate under John Thune is worse than useless.

He is, and to be honest, I'm pleasantly surprised. In general, I don't think much of anyone coming out of the Senate.

NATO and the UN are the clown shoes. We should have no part in them. The US must come out and separate itself from these Nations. We have done enough for Europe.

Admin lost the plot in many ways. We busted out massive tariffs on Europe instead of uniting against China. China was always the threat.

Nobody wants to be bullied and when the US says we have this, don't need ya. Europe merely waved, like they always were.

There really is no NATO or UN, just stickers to put on packages that we fund and paint on bombs that we drop. Everybody always knew this, just that R's and D's still keep on repeating the safe foreign welfare.

Worse than that, these countries like Spain etc. were banning the USA from using USA bases in Spain.

Keep this in mind when the USA is fed bullshît about “Denmark will allow any number of bases on Greenland”.
