A third US aircraft carrier strike group is deploying to the Middle East as war with Iran rages on.
George Bush is headed back to the Middle East, ready for war.
The USS George H.W. Bush aircraft carrier will be sailing to the Middle East with a fleet of support ships in tow, Secretary of War Pete Hegseth announced Tuesday.
That news came after the Bush carrier group departed from its base in Norfolk, Virginia, in what Navy Times initially reported was a pre-scheduled deployment.
It will join two other aircraft carrier groups already in the Middle East — the USS Gerald Ford, in the Mediterranean Sea, and the USS Abraham Lincoln in the Arabian Sea.

Three carrier battle groups are not an indicator that we are leaving the Iran TO. It’s even too much for gun boat diplomacy, so we should be planning to hear that the attacks are underway when T speaks to the nation tomorrow.
Gotta be just for show. Do we really need 3 of them? Iran is now a pipsqueak country.
Combat training is hard to simulate. SecWar probably told Trump that we might as well take advantage of the situation and get our guys some trigger time and hone the crews flight ops skills.
Yeah, the B-52s are being put into service and most of the real destruction in Iran is going to happen in the next few weeks
They can roam if they want to.
It’s just a mission.
Does this sound like president who is getting ready to pack up and leave the Iran war.
A bit misleading as the Ford is longer in the Middle East and is now docked in Athens for repairs. So really just a new carrier replacing the old one.
Hasn’t one of the carriers been at sea for 10+ months? Maybe it’s relieving that carrier.
Gerald R Ford has out-chopped (departed) from CENTCOM. She’s currently in Croatia and will likely be heading home soon. Possibly before the George H.W. Bush arrives.
Don't the support ships have their own engines? Do they really have to be towed?
Regards,
