US President Donald Trump has claimed that the US is in "serious discussions" with a new regime in Tehran to end the war in Iran.
"The United States of America is in serious discussions with A NEW, AND MORE REASONABLE, REGIME to end our Military Operations in Iran," he announced on Truth Social.
"Great progress has been made but, if for any reason a deal is not shortly reached, which it probably will be, and if the Hormuz Strait is not immediately 'Open for Business,' we will conclude our lovely 'stay' in Iran by blowing up and completely obliterating all of their Electric Generating Plants, Oil Wells and Kharg Island (and possibly all desalinization plants!), which we have purposefully not yet 'touched.'"

This is just a regime of the moment. No one is really in charge in Iran. It’s just a bunch of warlords,/ clans/factions jockeying for ppl wet and position.

Well Iran is not laying down for Trump, he might have been expected they would but if wishes were like fishes...
There are talks going on...the problem....the talks are NOT subject to public opinion at this time.
regardless of what trump is saying at the moment (which may be a calculated ruse to spread fud with iran mullah leadership), he has two choices, boots on the ground (with its obvious drawbacks), or withdraw and let the blame be shared among NATO and the other arab nations who are less than willing to shoulder their fair share of the burden of keeping iran in check militarily.
Trump has been in enough deals all his adult life to know if he is being conned, if the nephew doesn’t have the authority so don’t shell out front cash to him and so on. Passed up the lawn sale used car only driven to and from church by the elderly lady owner.
the worst case scenario implies a large increase in domestic as well as foreign oil prices (and a possible windfall for russia) — would trump really do this?
Two things not to go along with:
1) Iranian negotiator promising an infidel: “Trust me.”
2) Belief that the region will be at peace after Biden said: “Don’t.”
I just calling balls and strikes. Rubio even admitted as much that that’s why we went. Are you of the opinion that it was Trump who twisted netanyahoo‘s arm?

Trump can call it a new regime all he wants, but its the Exact same despicable people who have beaten, tortured, raped, And murdered the Iranian people for decades.
They are NOT new. It’s not just insulting, but frightening to Iranians that he thinks its a new regime.
It is a new regime. He didn’t say it is a good new regime.
He also said it’s the Speaker he is negotiating with. I find that one a little difficult to accept. Might be sowing some seeds over there and setting that guy up.
