Mark Levin Calls for Troops in Iran—After Trump Plugged His Show
Newsweek ^ | March 29 | By Ellie Cook

Posted on 03/29/2026 2:32:56 PM PDT by RandFan

Fox News host Mark Levin argued for the White House to deploy "specialized" U.S. ground troops in Iran to secure Tehran's enriched uranium stockpiles, shortly after President Donald Trump urged members of the public to tune into his show late Saturday.

The U.S. has sent thousands of elite soldiers and Marines to the Middle East in recent days, widely seen as a sign the White House could greenlight select ground operatio1s on Iranian soil and escalate the conflict with Tehran.

Trump has not yet approved ground operations in Iran, according to U.S. media reports.

"Why would we need troops on the ground? Well, there's a lot of reasons—and we wouldn't need 300,000 of them. It's this uranium," Levin said during an episode of the network's Life, Liberty & Levin show.

Trump had encouraged the public to watch Levin's show hours earlier, saying Levin would "discuss the importance of hitting Iran, HARD" during the broadcast.

Neocons now want ground troops. They said before it wasn't needed and would only take a few weeks of bombing for the regime to fall ...

I guess you can count me in with the Neocons. This War will only end when we have all the Uranium, there is a change in the Regime and the last member of the IRGC has surrendered or is dead.

I was going to post ‘in before the gloom and doom crowd chimes in!’. Then I realized that one of them posted this thread.

It is a Strategic Priority of Trump’s Iran operation to deny the mullahs a nuclear weapons.

Different people have different ideas about how to accomplish that.

Not only Jews have called for boots on the ground.

I, for example, hope it can be done without. But I have no idea of how to accomplish that, not being a military strategist. I leave that to the professionals.

Someone else might call for the deployment of ground troops. Levin is also not a military strategist, and he does suggest troops. Okay.

How about we let all sorts of Americans chime in with their thoughts on how to achieve that cleanly stated Strategic Objective without resorting to loaded dog whistles like “Neocon”?

You know more than me being ex-Army but this is not an “easy” operation in a country as vast as Iran

Mark Levin is no strategist or military planner and thinks a few thousand troops are sufficient?

Newsweek with the disingenuous headline here.

The point is to secure uranium. Not to nation build for the next 30 years.

But of course the next 100 replies will be arguments about nation building for the next 30 years, and not a quick strategic mission to secure uranium.

Your government refuses to help us and you mirror your government’s views on Trump and the war.

That is such a stupid argument. It’s like saying because Biden was president you’re a raging liberal

If Trump was deliberately trying to sabotage and destroy his Presidency, it would be hard to come up with a scenario any different than the one he has followed the last 9 months. Aside from securing the border, Trump 2 has been a disaster.

Do we think Trump has become a warmonger now?

If yes Trump = warmonger: Then ok, that is how it starts.

If no Trump = warmonger: Then no, that is not how “it starts”.

Neocons now want ground troops. They said before it wasn't needed and would only take a few weeks of bombing for the regime to fall ...

A month ago, the Freepers who cheered Trump's attack on Iran insisted they would not support ground troops.

I wonder how many have flipped on that as well, and are backing Trump's decision?

Specialized forces. Try and keep up.

He’s a hell of a lot smarter than you but who isn’t?

Does President Trump call you regularly?

Thanks for mentioning that. I enjoy a good conversation here. And I often learn something new. Or at least I gain an appreciation of different perspectives.

Sadly, sometimes these threads devolve into “You’re dumb. No, you’re dumb.” Perhaps that’s unavoidable, given how passionate many folks feel about this topic.
