Certain oil tankers are making it safely through the Strait of Hormuz — here’s how {Indian ships get through}

Ships carrying Iranian oil are using secret codes to bypass Tehran’s blockade in the Strait of Hormuz, according to a stunning report.

This has allowed dozens of vessels — all tied to countries that still purchase Iran’s crude — to escape the perilous shipping lane, while thousands of others remain stranded in the Persian Gulf.

Tehran has effectively closed the strait as a result of the war — cutting off a passage that saw some 130 ships travel through its waters every day.

Since then, only 90 ships have been able to transit, according to maritime trackers.

Huax, a German-Italian maritime intelligence firm, found that the ships that have made the journey were linked to Iran’s oil industry or had gotten permission to cross, with the vessels broadcasting a secret signal that identifies them as being clear for passage, The Times of London reported.

“Whether they are signals to Tehran or internal fleet identifiers, we cannot confirm, but the signals are coordinated across multiple vessels,” Arsenio Longo, a maritime intelligence expert at Huax, told the outlet.

“Indian and China-linked vessels appear to be transiting or staging for transit while virtually all other commercial traffic remains blocked,” he added.

Some of the ships have also sent out messages that read, “GOVT OF INDIA SHIP” and “INDIAN SHIP&INDCREW,” highlighting India’s limited success in negotiating a safe passage with Iran.

Thank you very much and God bless you.

Countries like India are negotiating the safe passage for their ships with Iran.

India has also deployed its navy in the Gulf of Oman. According to reports, the Indian Navy has deployed more than half a dozen warships to the Gulf of Oman and Arabian Sea to escort Indian oil tankers through the world’s most dangerous waters at present.

The Indian Navy has been given the responsibility of ensuring the safe return of the oil tankers. But this is not a conventional escort mission. Naval personnel are not merely accompanying tankers; they are guiding them, step by step, through one of the world's most sensitive maritime passages.

The Indian Navy has launched 'Operation Urja Suraksha'. This operation entails the positioning of over five advanced warships in the vital maritime chokepoint of the Strait of Hormuz.

I’m gonna go out on a limb and say the Indians are paying dearly for the privilege.

what I dont understand is... what prevents Iran from attacking the ships cuing up outside the strait? It’s not like they are shooting arrows... all the ships waiting are within range also.

Just odd

Perhaps - there are reports that Iran has begun imposing a $2 million “transit fee” on some commercial vessels due to the “cost of war”

But the Indian government has officially denied paying Iran for passage through the Strait of Hormuz

https://www.thehindu.com/news/national/no-permission-required-to-sail-through-strait-of-hormuz-says-govt-official/article70781109.ece

It SEEMS that the Indian ships are broadcasting “We’re Indian” as they navigate through the straits

one of the guess is that they have to pay the regime

the other is that the Iranian regime has said ‘neutral countries can pass’ so putting pressure on the USA and allies.

Completely destroying all traffic would backfire on Iran. A total closure would halt Iran’s own oil exports, which are currently being shipped out alongside approved traffic. It would also risk severe retaliation from China and India who would have no other option but to get into the war against Iran.

Iran has long had a clear objective and set of rules when it comes to the Strait of Hormuz. Basically, they consider most of the strait to be part of their territorial waters and see ships transiting the strait as trespassers.

It’s really that simple. Iran hasn’t attacked any ships in the open waters of the Persian Gulf because they aren’t trespassing in what Iran considers to be their territorial waters.

President Trump said he would give these nutcase muzzies five days, two of them are already gone. This suggests that he is also telling these other NATO countries as well as others in the ME that they need to join in the extinction of this regime too.

To make up a quote, “hit them harder then they have ever seen seen before.”

It looks as if Russia is threatening the Baltic States, using the same excuse as they did in Ukraine, to protect ethnic Russians in a neighboring country. Unlike Ukraine, Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania are NATO members. If Russia invades Estonia where there is a large Russian population or attempts to build a land corridor to connect Kaliningrad with Belarus by invading Lithuania, the NATO treaty requires other NATO members to come to their defense. The best NATO military forces are those of the United States and Turkey. With so many of our resources in the Persian Gulf, and the Chinese and North Korean threats in East Asia, our ability to help the Baltic States is limited. Turkey may have some role in the Iran war and will want to keep their troops at home. It will be up to Poland and the other NATO forces to fight a Russian incursion.

Even though opening the Straits of Hormuz is in the interests of Europe, the threat of Russian invasion will prevent them from helping.

Might be many/most Iranian mines are connected to shore by fiber optic cables. Meaning they armed/disarmed from onshore.

Forgot to mention the Kurds, they are being armed as we speak...so I heard on a couple podcasts. There’s your ‘boots on the grounds’ so to speak.
