Without the U.S.A., NATO IS A PAPER TIGER! They didn’t want to join the fight to stop a Nuclear Powered Iran. Now that fight is Militarily WON, with very little danger for them, they complain about the high oil prices they are forced to pay, but don’t want to help open the Strait of Hormuz, a simple military maneuver that is the single reason for the high oil prices. NATO doesn’t work that way. What happened here is that NetanYAYhoo convinced him it would be like Venezuela. They could assassinate the leaders and the protesters would take over. 3 or 4 days max... he had no plan beyond that.

Do you have any idea how big that area is? It’s 250 miles and mountainous. Like big Arizona/California mountains.
Imagine Marines landing and holding everything from Santa Barbara to Santa Cruz, mountains and all, and you aren’t far off. The WWII USMC with 6 divisions would have been swallowed up. Suribachi was like 550 feet tall or something.
This is like taking the entire Pacific Coast Highway, mountains and all.
The bottom line, Trump didn’t listen to his Admirals and Generals and has never looked at a 3D topo map of that area.
God knows how many caves and missiles have been placed in that area. All they need is one observer, and not always that.
This is a huge problem and it can’t be solved with Naval escorts. Did you notice how fast that idea was shut down when he first floated it a few weeks ago? Guaranteed his Admirals had a talk with him.
Well, believe it for we’re now in the scrum and its time for those weak quislings to stand up. The definition of allies is shared interests and its in their best interest if the strait of Hormuz is open.

It's open to them; the Iranian Foreign Minister has made it clear that it is only the US and Israel whom they have closed the Strait to.
This looks like DJT is asking someone who, to quote Winston Churchill, will pull our chestnuts out of the fire.
