Dear FRiends, We need your continuing support to keep FR funded. Your donations are our sole source of funding. No sugar daddies, no advertisers, no paid memberships, no commercial sales, no gimmicks, no tax subsidies. This means no spam, no pop-ups, no ad trackers.
And because we are not a 501C, we have preserved our God-given, constitutionally protected right to free speech without government intervention.
All of the above means Free Republic remains an independent, grassroots, user-funded, conservative forum.
If you enjoy using FR and agree it's a worthy God-Family-Country endeavor, please consider making a contribution today:

Chris,
Can you give us some numbers about average monthly users and posters?
Libloather and I are discussing just how many there are, and how little it would take for small donations to solve fundraising ANNUALLY if even a portion gave a few bucks a month.
Ransomnote spends a lot of energy encouraging donations and deserves recognition for the effort.
MtnClimber and Libloather and many, many, others contribute in various ways.
Even trolls might send a few bucks just to keep the platform going so they have a place to be at night when they’re alone and feeling their TDS.
Heh.
Please remember to make a donation to FreeRepublic. Support this site with a few bucks a month. It’s very easy.
Monthly $5, $10, $15, $30 (dollar a day!), $100, $1,000. Knock yourself out.
There are hundreds of thousands of daily readers and posters (more?). If even 10,000 members sent ten bucks a month, the quarterly fundraisers could disappear before it even starts.
Done! Come on in, everybody; the water’s fine!
Imagine that...
I feel that. I sort of self-immolated back in 1996 or so on the earliest boards Jim set up. The old chat boards. Jim was completely in control as the sole moderator. Old timers will remember.
After sobering up, I re-invented my new persona as KitJ. I dedicate myself to posting positive comments. Not always successful. For decades.
Yes, some people have been banned. I've had a number of 'time-outs' personally assigned by Jim. Rest his soul. New members can get a little hazing. The Oldsters want to check their bona fides. No wonder.
This website has attracted government attention since the Clinton/Lewinsky days. FreeRepublic is cited in Congressional testimony. I believe many nations and intelligence organizations are observers, or active participants here daily.
You're afraid that insults may drive away new members?
FUNDING
$81000/365=$221.92 per day
$81000/ 12=$6750 per month
$81000/ 4=$20250 per quarter
*********
Any suggestion as to how to
raise the funds other than
the current process? I have
no idea what the Owners may
accept or can accept.
Well...it's a LOT more than just "some people." Go count the ZOT threads and pay particular attention to their celebratory flavor. Seems very counterproductive for fundraising.

You need to get out into 'general population' more.
New sign-ups are no longer welcomed with open arms but instead fall under immediate suspicion as being "trolls" or "re-treads" and usually get dog-piled and attacked as such. They're either usually banned or else don't stick around for long.
Again, these not very effective strategies for rebuilding the site's membership or improving its fundraising.
Just sayin'...
I’ll make a donation, but I need to politely ask one simple question first ...
Can you provide a breakdown of exactly what $81,000 needs to get spent on every quarter?
