Washington — Senate Majority Leader John Thune made clear Tuesday that an elections bill known as the SAVE America Act faces an unlikely path to passage, reiterating his skepticism about the bill's chances as President Trump threatens a legislative blockade until Congress approves the measure.
"There are no easy ways to do this," Thune told reporters Tuesday. "Believe me, we've examined all the options."
The legislation, which the House passed last month, would require proof of citizenship to register to vote, along with photo ID to cast a ballot. But Mr. Trump has demanded that the legislation go farther and ban all mail-in ballots. He has also pushed to include restrictions on transgender athletes participating in women's sports and on gender-affirming surgeries for minors.

What a great republican leader.
He can say that he tried to work Thune. But he was not willing to play ball.
“Time for Trump to endorse Paxton.

How would that help in this instance? Even if Paxton is somehow elected, he’ll still be the most junior senator in the Senate.
I smell a negotiation tactic.
Useless members of the Senate. People complain about Graham, but at least he walks the talk.

Uh huh. First off, Thune, you have to WANT to pass it! Just another rino crook.
John Daschle Thune, a swamp creature by another name, and a liar.
The majority of Americans want honest elections, and Congress is incapable of doing anything about it.
Eventually, Thune will get replaced as the Senate Majority Leader.

There won’t be a second chance. For the Republic, for the Republican Party, gor America. It’s F’ing INSANITY.
1) I am convinced that if the SAVE Act were to pass, the Democrats would lose a lot of elections, and the Republicans would win.
2) I am also convinced that many Republicans who used to win with (let’s say) 500,000 vote totals might suddenly start winning with 350,000 vote totals.
It would be very embarrassing for BOTH parties because a lot of the “voters” for both parties don’t actually exist.
Trump can use his pressure to have the Senate confirm another leader. As they say, 27 votes is easier to get than 51.
“How would that help in this instance?”
We’d be rid of Thune and the rest of the spineless weasels might just get the message.
“Even if Paxton is somehow elected, he’ll still be the most junior senator in the Senate.”
And?

Okay, but I still don’t see how that moves any legislation right not.
At the rate things are going, Thune probably won’t be the Majority Leader in 2027. The gavel will transfer to someone like Schumer.
So be it.
Thune is just another pathetic swamp rat.
Of course there is an easy way to get it passed, change the rule on filibusters by a simple majority vote. It is being abused.
Not a great sign when even Thune doesn’t respect or fear you.
