You can tell that Trump meant business and he considered Iran somewhat of a naval threat to put the top of the line out front.
So it will be another week before it reasches southern Iran.
Surprised Hamas hasn’t done anything yet in Gaza to make it. a three front war for Israel.
I think you meant to post “relieve the USS Ford”. There could well be a month or so of overlap, giving us 3 carriers in the region.
I note that the comments @ the article are full of Iranian / Chinese / Russian trolls and tools. Most are idiots. One claims the Iranian frigate we torpedoed was “unarmed”. Apparently the troll doesn’t understand what a frigate is, or does understand, but just lies stupidly anyway.
It is troubling to see such twaddle sway people, though.
They have to sail by Yemen if they want to join the fight.
It’s probably more that we wanted as much capability in the region as possible, to hit hard and fast and minimize Iran’s ability to wreak havoc, as they have attempted, with their large number of missiles and drones.
Two of Iran’s warships have apparently retired from the conflict and taken refuge in Sri Lanka, too. Smart move by them.
We also surely wanted to erase Iran’s Navy quickly to reduce the odds Iran could successfully lay mines.
That’s just what Yemen needs: Fire off a few attacks and get a pounding from the US most capable carrier and its strike force, assisted by various other assets.
It would tie us down. Might be a smart move.
Also it would also show how much firepower the aircraft carrier has.
...It's (sic) preparing to relieve the USS Bush"
Always something within names. Interesting especially in the [Purim] timing is that the name "Ford" [פורד] begins with Pur.

Inherited from Middle English fōrd, from Old English ford, from Proto-West Germanic *furdu, from Proto-Germanic *furduz, from Proto-Indo-European *pértus (“crossing”).
Doublet of firth, fjord and fjard, all via Old Norse; and port, distantly via Latin. Cognate with Low German Föörd, Dutch voord, German Furt, Norwegian and Danish fjord. See also forth and Persian پل (pol, “bridge”).
ford (plural fords)
A location where a stream is shallow and the bottom has good footing, making it possible to cross from one side to the other with no bridge, by walking, riding, or driving through the water; a crossing.
Bainbridge -- it's more than just an island in Puget Sound:
Origin: The name is derived from the Old Norse word beinn ("straight," "direct," or "handy") and the Old English word brycg ("bridge").
And more here at Bain.
Reminds me of the midrash about Nachshon:
When Israel stood facing the Sea of Reeds, and the command was given to move forward, each of the tribes hesitated, saying, “We do not want to be the first to jump into the sea.”
Nachshon saw what was happening -- and jumped into the sea.

The eternal kingdom of Israel was given to his tribe, Judah, and it follows that Moshiach will be his descendant as well.9
See, that's why any small child could understand why the Messiah had to be a Navy man -- he walks on water, doesn't he? 😉 😁

Yes. My mistake. Thanx
I’m guessing longer than that
former Iranian frigate IRIS Dena:
Paul R.: "Two of Iran’s warships have apparently retired from the conflict and taken refuge in Sri Lanka, too. Smart move by them."
Not quite.
There were three Iranian navy ships involved, not two, and only one of which was a combatant warship.
Hamas can't even use the outhouse in Gaza without the very likely risk of being struck by lightning!
Hamas still persists. The third front is Gaza City whwrw evacuation notices have been issued and destruction and assaults are presently underway
I would hope the Yemenis provide a better training opportunity than the last go-around.
What EeyoreFan8 and others aren’t getting is the strike force part, which may include AWACs, submarines, specialized intel craft, satellites, SEALs and all those new shiny toys they brought out recently. Lord knows what the Space Force is REALLY capable of.

I'm surprised they haven't played the "It was hauling baby milk formula" card yet.
One of those frigates was patrolling against Somalian pirates at one time. There is a Youtube video of it.
The USS Bainbridge is the fifth ship to carry the name. Bainbridge is named in honor of Commodore William Bainbridge, who as commander of the frigate USS Constitution distinguished himself in the War of 1812 when he and his crew captured HMS Java, a 38-gun fifth-rate frigate of the Royal Navy.
Additionally, the USS Bainbridge back in 1902 was the first ship of the “destroyer” type for the US Navy.
It is good that the Ford is moving closer to the action. This will help releave Israel a bit and our people over there.
