Karen Bass has call with Trump for first time since Palisades Fire — here’s what they talked about

Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass and President Donald Trump have finally broken their silence.

Months after a tense public clash over rebuilding the Pacific Palisades following the devastating 2025 wildfires, the progressive mayor and the Republican president spoke directly by phone, a conversation Bass revealed in an interview Friday with KNX Los Angeles City Hall reporter Craig Fiegener that was obtained by The Post.

Bass said she called the White House early in the week and Trump returned her call on Thursday.

The call marks the first known conversation between the two since the early days of the wildfire crisis, when the pair clashed publicly over how quickly Los Angeles should rebuild.

Bass Ackwards is so bloody ignorant, she just now realized that all of the USAID money that used to be funneled her way has ceased. She is going through grift withdrawal.

California related:

BREAKING: Rep. Darrell Issa (R-CA) confirms to @FoxNews he will retire from Congress after serving out the rest of his current term. He is endorsing San Diego County Supervisor @jim_desmond for his seat, which is being gerrymandered to benefit Democrats as a result of CA’s Prop 50.

Karen Basura says she wants to fight for L.A. Yeah, her version...no cash bail, let all the felons and illegal criminals out on the streets, anti business, pro homeless grift ngos, anti ICE, anti law and order, sanctuary city for illegal criminals. Now, she is trying to act responsible. I fear she will end up a psychotic, penniless bag lady on the streets of Havana. She went to Cuba 8 times in the past to learn from the commies there. Living on the street befits her job performance. Pure incompetent lying trash.

Bass is a Castro-style Communist. She praised Fidel Castro when he died and extolled his “virtues.”

She is 100% responsible for the fire being as damaging as it was - Santa Inez reservoir was dry for almost two years, fire hydrants dry, incompetent, DEI lesbian fire chief (whom she blamed and then fired), 100 fire trucks in the maintenance yard b/c there was “no money to fix them” - while she paid the incompetent DWP DEI hire Jenisse Quinones $750k/year to do nothing (she recently resigned, Thank God).

Then Bass claimed she “didn’t know” about the huge wind and fire warnings that kept coming in - while I was getting these warnings on my iPhone every few hours 24/7 for three days before the fires started - and I live outside of LA.

I thought “Yoga Pants” Garcetti was the worst mayor ever, but Bass tops even his incompetence.

That said, she’ll be re-elected in a landslide. Count on it.

Ask her how much money she and Newsome pi#@ed away on their own interests and on illegals. How much would she have now if she had been honest and accountable?

Why does Uncle Sam have to pick up the tab for their BS lifestyle?

Dealing with her is like trying to pick up a turd by the clean end

I find that term “progressive” really odd as it is commonly used. I always thought the common use of it should be referred to as “regressive”.
