Thousands of cruise line passengers are trapped in ports in the Persian Gulf due to ongoing military strikes in the Middle East.
Cruise ships have become stationary hotels as the conflict in Iran has left many stranded. Escalating hostilities have raised fears over safety in the Strait of Hormuz, one of the world’s most vital shipping lanes. The Daily Mail wrote that at least six big ships are said to be stationary and awaiting word regarding when they can leave.
These passengers are docked or anchored in port cities such as Abu Dhabi and Dubai in the United Arab Emirates and Doha in Qatar.

But they’re on floating petri dishes! How will they ever survive? /S
HAHA 57 or so cruises, I still am healthy as a race horse.
Stranded cruise ship means free cuisine and drinks. Why I never was that lucky? None of my cruise ships ever were stranded for any reason.
We were on a cruise that was delayed 3 days due to a “Random Wind Event”
I always wondered why the Muslims never sank one of those. Or set one on fire like the Morro Castle.

The Daily Mail lists the ships and ports they are at.
“The Daily Mail lists the ships and ports they are at.”
They posted a target list.
If I ever take a cruise, I can guarantee it wouldn’t be to the Persian Gulf.

I noticed the gps tracking of all ships, was taken down on Sunday. All that are in that area
I think these stranded cruise ship passengers should be issued cutlasses to repel possible boarders. Sure, that would probably be unnecessary.
But it would make for a great story once they got back home.
Side note to the cruise ships: Do not issue a cutlass to any drunk passengers. Safely first.
HELL ON EARTH
Imprisoned with 3,000 drunken strangers on a floating behemoth with overflowing holding tanks and supplies of booze and toilet paper running out.
I’ve never seen the attraction. If I want to vacation in a gigantic hotel, I’ll go to one on land.
(Some of the U.S. river cruises seem more restful, though...)
They didn’t blow it up but remember the Achille Lauro?
I remember my brother telling me the recipe for a Klinghoffer cocktail: two shots and a splash.
Who takes a cruise... in the Persian Gulf? What is there to see?
Exactly! The Mediterranean, Alaska, the Caribbean, the Panama Canal..... but the Persian Gulf?!
Isaac will take care of them. He makes a mean old fashioned.
I remember seeing cruise ships docked in Dubai a couple of times and wondering where the heck else they went? Kuwait? Bahrain? Riyadh? Umm Qasr? Good grief. 🤦🏻♀️
