Excellent! I hope Italy and Spain will join the effort as well.

The French aircraft carrier Charles de Gaulle is a joke compared to the Lincoln and Ford.

I can see that. Also, being part of the operation, perhaps “information sharing” with China...who then shares with Iran?

Better late than never.

Yes they should have done the right thing from the beginning, but look at it like Trump shamed them.

And if it helps to push back the wimpification of European countries, then it was a good lesson learned.

Good old, weak and indecisive Europe...you can always count on them when times are tough, right?

Remember National Lampoon’s special edition on France from about 1975... Marshal Petain - the Hero of Verdun!

Passivite’
Dabilite’
Timidite’

France will deploy an aircraft carrier with 8 planes from the EU. They should just stay in dry dock.

Don’t count on Spain. They just said that the US cannot use their airfields for the Iran operation. Pathetic that the same country that courageously threw out the occupying Moslems from their land 500 years ago can’t lift a finger to help eradicate Muslim militancy in the rest of the world.

Building support for this war is going to be tricky. Some of the concerns are legitimate and the rationale for starting the war now is a little shaky. I think the best argument for the war is that Iran is weak and this is a great opportunity to take out a dangerous, longtime foe. Kind of like the rationale that Frederick the Great used to annex Silesia - Austria was in chaos so the time was right to take advantage of a great opportunity. But that rationale for war is high risk. If it works, everyone praises you. But if it doesn’t everyone damns you.

“They jumped right in there...after the hard work was done.”

>>>>>>>>>>>

Since France wasn’t informed about any Israeli / US attack, there was no way for France to participate initially. Right?

What counts is deeds not words. Thus, now that Trump has invited its allies to participate in the war, France has responded favorably and is sending a nuclear aircraft carrier group (and at least one nuclear submarine) into the Iran war.
They will use those assets to protect American bases, the American fleet and Israel’s entire territory against Iranian attacks.

Macron will speak to the nation tonight at 8:00 pm French time.

Let’s not forget that France was proactive over the skies of Israel during Operation Midnight Hammer - they shot down many Iranian missiles and drones.
