~I was out of it for most of last week, due to a car accident and another heart attack within seconds of each other, both pretty serious. So I was hoping to emerge to a reasonably relaxed environment with plenty of time to get myself up to speed on what I've missed. Alas, the news cycle had other plans.
One worries in such circumstances that one is projecting outward one's own intimations of mortality. As I have maintained for God knows how many sodding decades, in a certain sense the Iranian revolution is where our present era began, and not only because Sinatra played Tehran under the Shah and never got a look-in under the late Ayatollah. The immediate post-revolutionary era was a new low for the United States, with the embassy hostages, and then the mullahs poking the corpses of American soldiers on TV after the helicopters-in-the-desert fiasco, and the wretched Jimmy Carter embodying "the free world" as a smiling eunuch. The Shah died in Egypt, because the eunuch was too cowardly to admit him to the US for medical treatment. I wish Carter had lived long enough to be droned while paying a courtesy call on the Supreme Leader.
But so it has gone for for forty-seven sod-bollocking years...
On this third day of a war whose aim is "regime change", the American toll so far is:
1) four dead US servicemen officially announced by Centcom;
2) but also two dead, another three in critical condition, and eleven others injured in a shooting at a bar in Austin, Texas;
3) and a 39-year-old woman and a dog dead, plus three others injured, after a stabbing incident on the highway in Fairfax, Virginia;

Ironic, that Jimmuh wouldn’t allow the Shah treatment in America ... when Jimmuh later sought HIS OWN successful treatment, in Israel.

There is no Operation Epic Fury to deal with a Muslim shooting up a bar in Texas.
When we bombed Iran's nuclear facilities, their response was to shoot a few missiles at US and Israeli sites in the ME, mostly to no effect. I think we have that area pretty much under control this time, too.
It's the sleepers and the protesters within our borders I'm worried about. Dealing with them is the duty of local authorities and patriots within the USA. Whether it's a bar in Texas or a street in Minneapolis, we need to stand up and proclaim "I don't care what Rashida or Ilhan or AOC say, I won't allow your anti-USA sh*t here..."

The Fairfax County stabbing was last Monday so not a reaction to the attacks on Iran. The suspected killer is a native of Sierra Leone with a Muslim name.
Someone needs to have the balls to acknowledge that all believers in Sharia law are just like members of the Nazi party and neither fit for immigration nor citizenship, having violated their oath to uphold the US Constitution.
You have some events confused. The I-495 stabbing happened yesterday. The stabbing you’re probably thing of, where an Indian immigrant killed his wife and daughter, and stabbed his son-in-law was last week.
The shooting in Austin was by the African muslim.
Well, it’s hard to keep the stabbings and murders seperate. The death toll adds up.
Yeah, we’re much better fighting the enemy abroad than the enemy within.
And within we have two big enemies - Islamists and Marxists, and they have joined forces to defeat us - their common enemy.
