Three U.S. service members have been killed in action as part of U.S. military operations against Iran, the U.S. Central Command said in a statement on Sunday. Five others were seriously wounded as part of Operation Epic Fury, it said.

Ultimately it will be up to the new government to handle its previous regime. Trumps comments are to encourage surrender and minimize loss of life. But I’m not too worried about his immunity statement. It won’t be us enforcing that.

Yep, trying to entice the Iranian military to lay down their arms and prevent more Americans getting killed is a bad move.
Stop. The new Iranian regime will deal more severely deal with the former regime.
In an operation this large, three dead in accidents would be seen as normal. In ground maneuvers, maybe twice that many.
In the military, there are many ways to get injured and die.

you’d probably get 3 dead from simple training maneuvers this large.
The US policy makers screwed up bigly by disenfranchising the Iraqi military after Saddam. Lesson learned.
Plus the regular Iranian military ( not IRGC) still retain a history of western influence and military competency. They will be an important institution in the new secular national government.
