One of the hooligans who allegedly pelted NYPD cops with snowballs in a rowdy free-for-all at Washington Square Park has been unmasked — as a 27-year-old punk who was arrested for attempted robbery just weeks ago, police said.
Gusmane Coulibaly was cuffed on Thursday in connection to the Monday afternoon mayhem that sent two uniformed cops to the hospital, authorities said.
The charges he faces in the snow-slinging case were not immediately known.
The NYPD released an image of Gusmane Coulibaly, who was arrested in connection with pummeling NYPD officers with snowballs earlier this week. DCPI
And it isn’t Coulibaly’s first run-in with the law. The goon was arrested for attempted robbery in the subway less than three weeks ago, police said.
Police Commissioner Jessica Tisch previously described the icy incident as “criminal” and “disgraceful.”

Well, if Mamdani and Alvin Bragg want to call him a “kid in a snowball fight,” he isn’t going to be charged with anything serious. Bragg will probably let him off with a warning. Until NYC votes in a different mayor and a different DA, stuff like this is going to continue to happen.

I had an elderly uncle who was a NY City copy from the late 1940s to the early 1980s
Typical Irish beat cop, born in Brooklyn, lived in Staten Island, rose through the ranks. He passed away 20 years ago. He would be so sad to see what happened to his city.
He was a walking chronicle of the decline and decay of NY City. Even in the worst days of Ed Koch, no one questioned the ability of police to defend themselves. You attacked a cop, you got a beating - and then you went to court and to jail. It was guaranteed instant justice.
It kept the animals in line. Now the policy from the top is purposeful chaos.
We knew they were black when the media described them as “kids” or “teens” and intentionally blurred their pictures.
You use the word in the popular sense, but FYI it’s incorrect. If I raise my hand as if to hit somebody, putting the fear into that person is assault. If I hit him, that’s battery. This lowlife should be charged with battery
The bet here is that a foreign born judge, which there are many, will walk the scum bag out and dismiss the charges.

Well if he got nothing, in NYC he was probably released with negative bail.
The last snow the area got was not the fun snowball type snow. It packed hard and heavy like a rock.
I guess there are several questions here...like why was he out on the street after an arrest? What are they using in NYC that they call “justice” these days? The perp is not a juvenile at 27 yrs. old. I hope somebody in city administration knows what they’re doing these days, but right now it sure doesn’t look like it. Perhaps there are certain officials that, like this “kid”, have slipped through the cracks. I’d personally have to say that maybe Mayor Mamdani is not capable of running a hot dog stand, let alone a major city. But then I guess it’s true what they say....that you get what you voted for.
