WSET) — As Virginia's General Assembly debates bills on hot topics in the state, such as redistricting and gun control, a new poll reveals Virginia voters' thoughts on those same issues.
On Monday the Institute for Policy and Opinion Research at Roanoke College released its results from interviewing 800 Virginia residents in February 2026. Overall, their stats show that most Virginians are in favor of the state's current method of redistricting and drawing legislative lines. Statistically, they also favor stricter gun laws, but question whether or not they are effective.
According to the Roanoke College Poll, 62% of Virginians said they support the way electoral districts are already mapped.
"When asked how they would vote in a referendum to amend the state constitution and change that method, most (52%) said they would vote to keep the current process while 44% said they would vote to adopt the change proposed by the General Assembly," the poll said. …

LOL!
Do they think that mere Virginia taxpeasants have a say in Abby’s Longhouse dictatorship?
Good thing the Virginia DemoKKKraps smacked down that uppity Negress Winsome Sears.

Hey Spamberger, did you read this article?
Democrats don’t actually care about democracy, just power
A majority of them wouldn’t vote for a black, military veteran woman either. What racist pigs Virginians are. They’d rather have white Karen as Governor than a qualified black woman.
Then they should have shown up at the polls.
Middle Index Finger, Virginians.
“(52%) said they would vote to keep the current process while 44% said they would vote to adopt the change”
Well within the margin for cheating.
This might not even come up for a vote. There’s a legal challenge saying it violates the VA constitution, and the VA Supreme Court, coincidentally, has to approve district boundaries under the current non-partisan redistricting laws.
Doesn’t matter!
The Democrat/Socialist/Marxist/Communist Bitch and her lackeys in the VA House and Senate will ignore the will of the people and have their way with them!
People in Southside Virginia don’t want a non-binary congressthing from Arlington, Alexandria or Fairfax County? Who’da thunk it.
Due to massive vote fraud and manipulation then The people of Virginia have probably already lost the chance to vote these people out. After the redistricting then there will no chance to vote out the communists.
The state Supreme Court has already ruled on that and it approves. No surprise there, which is why they set the date for the referendum.
I am sure Virginians aren’t in favor of tax increases either but it looks like they are going to get them good and hard.
BOHICA!
Y’all voted for this crap. You had a viable candidate who said “No” to all of it and it wasn’t even close.
Since when did what the voters want matter?
Patrick Henry would be rolling over in his grave if he knew what Virginia became - a spot of tyranny...not a cradle of Liberty...
The Gun Control question was probably a ‘push poll’. The poll company asked the question in a way to get a predetermined answer. Is there any way at all gun control can be improved? Viola, the answer being sought.
Yeah, but Democrats just view them as "little people", and I don't mean dwarfs.
This is a different suit.
“ A Tazewell County Circuit Court judge on Thursday granted an emergency injunction blocking what Republicans call an unlawful April 21 redistricting referendum while the case is heard in court.
…
In his written ruling, Hurley found the plaintiffs have an “extraordinarily high likelihood of success on the merits,” including their claim that the referendum violates the timing requirement of Article XII, Section 1 of the Virginia Constitution because early voting is set for “sooner than 90 days after” the January passage of House Joint Resolution 4.
…
The court denied the commonwealth’s motions to transfer venue and to stay the case, and ordered that defendants are “temporarily restrained” from administering or taking action to advance the referendum.
The order remains in effect until March 18, unless modified or extended.
Virginia Attorney General Jay Jones pledged to “immediately appeal” the ruling in a Thursday evening statement.”
With Democrats counting the votes, it really doesn’t matter what the voters actually want.
