California U.S. Sen. Alex Padilla delivered a forceful rebuke to President Donald Trump’s State of the Union address, accusing him of lying about the economy, trying to manipulate elections and terrorizing communities with aggressive immigration enforcement. Padilla’s comments were released in a video speech minutes after the president completed his nationally streamed address on Tuesday night. The senator’s speech, nearly all in Spanish, was in stark contrast to Trump who spent much of his record long address touting the country under his leadership.

That’s an oxymoron by its very tribalized and balkanized nature.
Uh, I’m not sure that having a California Democrat do the response in mostly Spanish while quoting Bad Bunny is quite the “flex” that the Sac Bee thinks it is. Maybe it’s just me, but that looks more like pandering to a TDS-infected base than an appeal to independent and swing voters.

The very idea of a “Spanish” SOTU as a piece of Democrat propaganda is a divisive abomination. There is nothing deficient about offering the SOTU online with multilingual subtitles, as that would increase its global reach substantially.
