In yet another story showing why statism is ridiculous, New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani is under fire over a rule requiring emergency snow shovelers to show two forms of ID to help clear the roads amid a severe storm.
The rule is so absurd that even CNN’s Jake Tapper appeared to take Mamdani to task over it. During a recent broadcast, Tapper brought up criticisms coming from Republicans because Mamdani requires two forms of ID to shovel snow but is a vocal opponent of voter ID laws requiring voters to show one form of ID to vote in federal elections.
Mamdani fell apart like a sand castle in a tsunami when asked to respond to the criticism.
“Well, here in New York City, we follow the law, and it's federal law to require certain forms of identification in order for someone to actually be paid for this a job,” he said. “And so that's what we're asking for, two forms of identification. It's a long-standing city program. It's a long-standing city policy.”
Those applying for the snow shoveling program are required to show two original forms of ID, copies of those IDs, and a Social Security card to qualify, according to the Denver Gazette. Joshua Goodman, DSNY deputy commissioner of public affairs, told Fox News Digital that New York City “has a legal obligation under federal law to verify work authorization and maintain proper documentation before issuing payment.”
However, federal law does not necessarily require two forms of ID. It requires one form, along with other documentation proving citizenship. This is not the same as what the city is requiring.

New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani intends to bill the U.S. taxpayers, via the Federal Government, for the New York City snow removal and FEMA won't reimburse New York City without the exact identity of everyone whose hours are invoiced.

Perhaps, but only 25 percent of people voted in that election. So the millions who failed to show up to vote have absolutely no standing to criticize anything Mandami does or doesn’t do.
The World Trade Center was attacked merely 25 years ago and now this Muslim was seeking to govern the very same victims.
This dude only became a US citizen in 2018, barely 8 years ago!
Mandami hasn’t ever had a real job in his entire life, let alone any executive experience.
These critical facts notwithstanding, there was disqualifying facts, there was plenty of information before the election that this guy was a radical Communist who would almost certainly be a catastrophe. Nope. Zero sympathy. New Yorkers are getting exactly what they deserve. It’s their own fault. Let them enjoy the consequences of their destruction. Just do not give one federal dollar to bail them out.

So.... People who are able and willing to work are stopped if they don’t have two forms of ID... And pay taxes.
But that state let in millions of illegal aliens to work and collect tax benefits without providing IDs.
And they’ll be able to vote without IDs. So were those workers with two forms of ID ready to work treated by racist white supremacists at a Sanitation Station of the City Government?
