California Gov. Gavin Newsom has been accused of racism after citing his underwhelming SAT score during a chat with a black elected official over the weekend.
“I’m not trying to impress you, I’m just trying to impress upon you, ‘I’m like you. I’m not better than you.’ I’m a 960 SAT guy,” Newsom told Atlanta mayor Andre Dickens during a Sunday night event promoting his forthcoming memoir, “Young Man in a Hurry”.
“And I’m not trying to offend anyone,” the potential 2028 Democratic contender went on. “I’m not trying to act all there if you got 940 … You’ve never seen me read a speech because I cannot read a speech.”
The average SAT score for blacks or African-Americans, who make up 12% of test takers, is 907 out of a possible 1600, according to College Board 2024 data.
Meanwhile, white participants received an average score of 1083.***
Newsom, 58, was roundly criticized for his comments.
“Gavin Newsom just said he is like a black person because he got a bad SAT score and can’t read,” Rep. Randy Fine (R-Fla.), who has his own history of controversial comments, wrote on X.***
Sen.Ted Cruz (R-Texas) accused Newsom of practicing “the soft bigotry of low expectations” and reposted a message from political scientist Carol M. Swain, who wrote: “Liberal racism on display.”***
The governor’s office did not immediately respond to requests for comment, but Newsom himself attacked Fox News host Sean Hannity on X after he posted about the Democrat’s comments.
“You didn’t give a s— about the President of the United States of America posting an ape video of President Obama or calling African nations s—holes — but you’re going to call me racist for talking about my lifelong struggle with dyslexia?” he wrote.
“Spare me your fake f—ing outrage, Sean.”

When he took SAT, his 960 score was almost perfect and almost double mine.
Glad greasy Gavin never learned the 2 rules of being in a hole.
The soft bigotry of low expectations. A cornerstone of liberalism.
It’s too much hair gel Gavin.
“I’m dumb like you.” is not the compliment nor winning campaign slogan Gavin Newsom thinks it is.
Newsom is so dumb he neither realized nor understood that what he’d said was extremely offensive to blacks (truth or not).
Yet idiots still vote for him, including 70% who voted to keep him during a recall election.
Making him a perfect Dem candidate for POTUS in 2028. Dems will push him the same way they did the wholly incompetent, unqualified Kamala Harris.
He also said “I’m just trying to impress on you, I’m like you, I’m no better than you”.
Who thought you were?
Having an arrogant snob say that to a person is practically enough to get him punched.

Give him enough rope and he will hang himself.
The epitome of “white-splaining”
But...but... he has such nice hair! 🙄
I don’t think the China map should be the darkest blue.
It don’t take smarts to steak and then reverse engineer all your science.
Just another democrat saying:
‘poor kids are just as bright and just as talented as white kids’
steak s/b steal
Translated: "Just like you, I'm not smart, just crafty".
He’s jus like us yo. Based guv para el presidente. Keep the drugs flowing and the best education in ‘meruca!
Go ahead, Grusome....just tell the world how ya really feel.
Most of us already know, but go ahead and tell em.....spit.

I found a video of Gavin right after taking his SAT.
