Mitch McConnell’s handlers are blocking the SAVE Act from being brought to a vote on the Senate Floor.
This guy was the leader of the Senate Republican Conference for 17 years, from 2007 to 2025.
The last few years have been difficult for the senior Kentucky Senator.
McConnell is 84 and is failing fast. He has no idea what is going on. But he does know he hates Trump, and that keeps him getting out of bed in the morning to screw the people of Kentucky and the US.
And now his handlers are blocking the SAVE ACT from reaching the US Senate floor for a vote.
Over 80% of Americans support the SAVE Act that forces voters to show an ID before voting.
But Mitch hates Trump and America so he’s blocking the Senate vote.
And he was the Republican Senate leader for over a decade!
Rep. Tim Burchett explains how McConnell’s handlers and big donors don’t want fair elections. McConnell is following their orders.
How sick!
What is happening with Mitch McConnell and why is he stopping the SAVE AMERICA ACT?

Even if the Save Act were to somehow pass the Senate, it would be enjoined by the courts at first review. There are no Constitutional provisions giving the federal government authority or oversight over elections, and there’s nothing in the Constitution about requiring identification to vote.
Mitch McConnell must diet.
Not fast enough unfortunately.
I thought we already had 50 with Collins. Just need 50 +Vance to force a standing filibuster. How, then, can McConnell block it?
There is also no provision for the feds or states to require ID to purchase firearms. Or limit who can buy them. But here we are.

It takes a 2/3 majority to change Senate of House Rules in the middle of a Congress.
Thought McTurtle was retiring as of 2025? Lord, he’s still around causing havoc for Repubs, this RINO ChiCom traitor.
I swear, I hate to speak ill of some folks but this guy. I can’t wait for him to do us all a favor and finally stroke out for good and shuffle off this mortal coil.
What an absolutely useless turd and a pain in Patriots’ backsides all over!
Yes, the Senate can implement a "talking filibuster"—requiring senators to actually speak on the floor to hold up legislation—with a simple majority of 51 votes. Through a procedural change known as the "nuclear option," a majority can change Senate rules to alter how the filibuster operates, as it is a procedural rule rather than a law.
No. It takes 2/3 to get rid of the filibusterbut only 51 to insist that an actual standing filibuster count as a filibuster.
Wasn't The Turtles final album Shell Shock?
He was always a snake.

I realize you’re an expert on Senate parliamentary procedure, but if it was as easy as you claim why hasn’t it already happened numerous times for both parties?
McConnell, who leads the Senate Rules Committee, is refusing to schedule a vote on the legislation, thus preventing it from moving forward. The bill would create barriers for voting, requiring specific forms of ID in order for Americans to exercise their constitutional right.
McConnell, McCain...
Are these the same?
Why hasn't what happened? There certainly has been talking filibusters required many times in the history of the Senate.
I’d question that. The 14th, 15th, 19th, and 26th Amendments all are framed in terms of “citizens” as it pertains to voting rights. Also, the Illegal Immigration Reform and Immigrant Responsibility Act of 1996 makes it a crime for non-citizens to vote in federal elections.
“and there’s nothing in the Constitution about requiring identification to vote.”
But the federal constitution says you have to be a citizen, and how do you know if someone is a citizen of a certain age and thus eligible to vote without proper credentials?
To me this is the barest requirement that has to be strictly enforced, otherwise it’s all a sham, which is what it is today!
