O'FALLON, Mo. — A Florissant woman is questioning why her fiancé was detained by ICE following a routine traffic stop in St. Charles County.
“I’ve never been this worried,” Victor Lopez de Lara’s fiancée said. “I’m devastated. I’m scared of what can happen.”
According to his fiancée, Victor Lopez de Lara was driving to Troy, MO, to work when he was stopped by O’Fallon Police.
“They said he had no front plate on his van,” Lopez de Lara’s fiancée said. “They asked for his driver’s license, but because he’s undocumented he had no driver’s license.”
After being taken in on municipal traffic charges a spokesman for the O’Fallon Police Dept. told 5 On Your Side that Lopez de Lara was turned over to Immigrations and Customs Enforcement, but it’s not clear who requested the ICE detainer.
“They never gave him a chance to leave, get bond, or anything,” Lopez de Lara’s fiancée said.

However, his fiancée admits that despite moving to the St. Louis area more than 25 years ago at the age of 4, he was never able to receive his citizenship.
“Money was an issue and then him not being able to finish high school and graduate was also an issue,” Lopez de Lara’s fiancée said.
...
Victor Lopez de Lara's deportation hearing has already been set for March 2nd at 3PM.

Now get packing! Enjoy your new life in Playa del Cholo.
To the Enemedia, the feelings of an illegal alien’s “fiancee” has more credibility than the laws passed by the United States Congress.
Here’s hoping.
You see? That's the problem.
Sayanora, amigo!
Is “Florissant Man” similar to “Florida Man?”
“A Florissant woman is questioning why her fiancé was detained by ICE following a routine traffic stop in St. Charles County.”

I see she got left out when brains were passed around. Well DUH! He’s illegal with no driver’s license.
This is a ‘very concerned’ fiance who has chosen to remain nameless for her own reasons.
Bingo.
Hmmm... Migrant invader... No driver's license... Out of state...
Nigeria is fine this time of year... She can join him there...
I have forgotten what Mafia movie or cop show I took this from: “When you break a law, never break more than one law at a time.”
If he’d had a front plate, he’d not have been caught.
If he could not get a drivers license, how was he able to get a job? I suppose the I-9 documents his employer has on file will be part of the evidence provided at his deportation hearing?
The sole issue is lack of US citizenship. Have it, you stay; lack it, you leave.
There is a strong chance that she is dumber than he is, as he could not even earn a high school diploma but she wants to marry him.
I’d say they’re equals in this case.
