Corey Lewandowski fired Coast Guard pilot for leaving Kristi Noem’s blanket on plane: report

Corey Lewandowski fired a Coast Guard pilot for leaving Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem’s blanket on a plane — but was forced to rehire them upon realizing there was nobody else to fly the plane, according to a stunning new report.

Lewandowski, an unpaid special government employee who unofficially acts as chief of staff for Noem — with whom he’s had a years-long affair — has overseen a reign of terror over department staff since President Trump took office last year.

According to the Wall Street Journal, Noem had to switch planes during an official trip due to a maintenance issue, but her blanket was not moved to the replacement aircraft.

Lewandowski fired the pilot and told them to find a commercial flight home when they reached their destination, only to reinstate them due to the lack of a backup.

Your tax dollars at work. Sleeping with the boss and acting like you own the place. Why are we paying for this two-bit nepo hire and his lover/boss?

We don’t know the truth in this incident. This is most likely a highly exaggerated version.........................

When tired and traveling little things like blankets can become big things. But....................

Never done a thing in his damned life except politics. Doesn’t have anything like the skill set required of a Coast Guard aviator, and he wants him to make sure to get Noem’s blankey?

Maybe she should take responsibility and get her possessions when switching planes.

Aircrew busy with a broke plane, and switching to another tail number. And he wants that pilot focusing on Noem’s blankey?

Lunacy....

Not really. If that is how DHS operates, that is something we need to know. This is a time in America that the BS is being stripped away.

A fine, but unintended benefit of the information age is the veneer being stripped away from the “elites”.

Not commenting on the veracity of this story. As a general matter:

1) Responsibility for personal property falls on the person to whom the property belongs.

2) The pilot’s job is to get you from Here to There safely. The pilot’s work begins long before anybody boards the aircraft and ends long after everybody has exited the aircraft. Anything that would distract the pilot from that job is somebody else’s problem.

As if Corey could fire anyone.

I am sure the pilot just shook his head and said, “Ok, buddy. Have fun getting home.”

First, probably not true or greatly exaggerated. Second, if this is the best they (the media)got, then we’re doing pretty well.

You can't "fire" a Coast Guard pilot. You could relieve them of their duty for that flight and transfer them to another job. Sensationalism for the gullible.

If true it would be.

But it’s just another slander until proven otherwise. 99% of what the media says are lies, even the weather.
