JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A man was sitting in his car late Tuesday in the 1000 block of Crestwood Street in Jacksonville’s North Shore neighborhood when he was approached by four people armed with guns.
The incident occurred at about 11:40 p.m., according to a Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office news release. The armed suspects commanded the victim to get out of the car.
The man complied, exited the car, and then there was an exchange of gunfire between the victim and the suspects, the news release states.
The victim shot two of the assailants; one in the leg, the other in the back, the news release states. “The injuries the suspects sustained are considered non life threatening at this time,” police said.
Officers responded to the call and the suspects were detained, the news release states.
JSO remained at the scene early Wednesday investigating the shooting and interviewing witnesses.

Most armed robbers don't want to fight.
This was a failure of the victim selection process....
Don’t know that city... is “Jacksonville’s North Shore neighborhood” one of those ‘hoods that you’d rather not be in after dark?
Probably.
“The injuries the suspects sustained are considered non life threatening...”
Ya can’t win ‘em all.
note to self:
Keep practicing target acquisition.
Most armed robbers don’t want to fight.
And a healthy percentage of those wouldn’t know how to use a gun if they’ve never watched TV or movies. Witness to that is all of those negligent discharge videos out there where the fool is acting “gangsta”.

Thank God for RKBA, the Constitution and the brilliant Founders who gave it to us.
Let me translate. The man was sitting in a known drug dealer neighborhood. He had a gun ready because not all drug deals are easy. The four men knew he was there to buy drugs meaning he had money and they probably didn’t have any drugs to sell, or they thought this was a more profitable approach. The man got out of the car probably leaving two men on the other side of the car. He fired at the two on his side.
It was quite likely that the car and the man were known. It would be known how much money he usually had. I’m guessing he wasn’t there to buy a baggie of pot.
A lot was left out of this story.
Missing from the story are details of the victim’s CCW weapon.
Many will have us believe you need a gun with 20 rounds capacity and 4 backup mags to defend yourself against 4 armed perps. I am pretty sure he didn’t have any time for a mag change and I am betting he fired less than 6 rounds, but who knows.
Sure, carring the Arsenal of Democracy with you wherever you go feels comforting, but I am thinking any pistol with 8 rounds or more and no spare mags, is going to get the job done 99% of the time. The secret is getting the gun into play and having the will to use it.
That is probably an accurate translation. Reading the headline made me think this “Florida man” brought the average up. After reading the article, it appears it was just another average Florida man.

“The man complied, exited the car, and then there was an exchange of gunfire between the victim and the suspects, the news release states.” 2 for 4, not bad, a little more range time and he’ll be right there.
Needs more time at the range.

Snub nosed S&W 36 in 38 special has put down a lot of feral ner do wells.
You mean like that teenager a couple years back that was swinging his Glock around on a live stream and took the :Room Temperature Challenges “?
but I am thinking any pistol with 8 rounds or more and no spare mags, is going to get the job done 99% of the time.
That one, among others. There’s enough videos of that type to be their own category.

There used to be a drive through fast food place in that area called “Toot and Tell em” that was known in the hood as “Shoot and Kill em’ due to the number of shootings in the area.
Lots of Wakandans in that area.
Darwin Award types.
